The Churchill Club Presents the First Annual Great Silicon Valley Oxford Union
Debate on the Motion, "This House Believes That the Problems of Tomorrow Are
Too Big for the Entrepreneurs of Today"
Churchill Club Teams with Oxford University and Santa Clara University for Inaugural Event
SAN JOSE, Calif. – (Marketwire – February 9, 2016) – Churchill Club, Silicon Valley’s premier
business and technology forum, and Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business and
Center for Science, Technology and Society, will co-host the First Annual Great Silicon Valley
Oxford Union Debate on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Participants will argue for and against the
motion, “this House believes that the problems of tomorrow are too big for the entrepreneurs of
today.”
Oxford University's Saïd Business School will co-present this unique evening of persuasion and
humor about a big topic that matters to us all—with strong opinions on both sides of the
argument.
“This event represents a huge opportunity for Silicon Valley,” said Churchill Club CEO Karen
Tucker. “From students and teachers to industry and government leaders and professionals–
everyone with an interest in entrepreneurism, innovation, world challenges, and the art of
debate will not only receive a top-notch education all in one evening, but also be inspired and

Scott Budman, Business and Technology Reporter at NBC, will preside as Master of
Ceremonies. Joe DiNucci, Partner, Enabling Thought Leadership, will lead the proposition team:
Steve Hoover, CEO, Palo Alto Research Center (PARC); Richard Lowenthal, CTO and Cofounder, Coulomb Technologies; and Brian Sager, Founder, Nanosolar. Mike Malone, veteran
journalist, author and public television host, will lead the opposition team including Tom Hayes,
Vice President of Corporate Marketing, Marvell; and Santosh Jayaram, Founder and COO,
