Training Title: SEMINAR WORKSHOP ON DIGITAL CURATION OF LOCAL KNOWLEDGE ARTIFACTS Training Description: This seminar-workshop is intended for local knowledge advocates from member AUDRN institutions who are tasked to curate artifacts in their academic or social community through digital tools. This two-day workshop is designed to trace the stage workflow associated with digital artifacts curation from acquiring it, representing it with metadata, making it accessible via a database-driven artifacts museum site; and thus ensuring its long-term preservation. The final output of the workshop will enable participants to provide seed content to the existing AUDRN Artifacts Museum site. Participants to this workshop will eventually be appointed as the digital curators for their own institution in relation to AUDRN initiatives. Training Objectives: At the end of the 2-day seminar-workshop, the participants are expected to: Describe the digital curation workflow in establishing a digital artifacts museum; Capture different images of artifacts applying visual design elements and techniques; Produce a procedural video of local knowledge practices applying digital film making processes; Practice the standard procedure in describing content and contexts of artifacts with emphasis on libraries, archives and online repositories; and Upload and share seed digital artifacts using the AUDRN Digital Artifacts Museum site Pre-requisites Participants must have the basic technical skills in internet navigation and practical knowledge in digital media. Participants must bring the following before attending the seminar-workshop: At least three digital photographs of existing artifacts in their institution that will be uploaded in the artifacts museum site. At least one digital video of an existing local knowledge practices in their institution that will be uploaded in the artifacts museum site.
