2015 Illinois Recycling and Resource Management Conference and Trade Show
The Illinois Recycling Association (IRA), the Solid Waste Association of North America Land of Lincoln Chapter
(SWANA-IL), and the Illinois Counties Solid Waste Management Association (ILCSWMA) are requesting
proposals for session topics for the 2015 Illinois Joint Conference, being held Thursday, June 18th and Friday, June
19th, at the Riverfront Conference Center – Embassy Suites Hotel in East Peoria. The conference theme this year is
“ReInvent. ReInvest.” and we are seeking engaging topics, discussions, and case studies to align with this theme.
The conference committee will consider proposals on any relevant topic, but are especially interested in the
following topics:  emerging technology  new management methods  anaerobic digestion  biogas
education campaigns  institutional programs  food scrap composting  sustainability visions
 extended producer responsibility  material markets  hazardous wastes  deconstruction  reuse
 repurposing  re-evaluating  redefining  resource management.
Each session will feature two speakers on related topics. Session lengths are 25 minutes per speaker with 10
minutes for Q&A = 60 minutes total per session. Please do not submit abstracts that exceed the time limit.
Please submit your abstract and details via this online survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2015SpeakerAbstracts. Abstracts must be entered no later than December 15, 2014. The conference committee reserves
all rights in the selection of sessions and speakers.

Thank you for your submission. All submitters will be contacted in February 2015 with speaker confirmation notices and a
session schedule draft. All presentations will be placed on the IRA website following the conference. Speakers will receive a
complimentary one-day registration for the event.
