DAV Chapter 2 Great Falls
“The Patriots Voice”
March 2012
C-130Hs coming to Great Falls
On February 3rd, Senator Jon Tester made a press release saying,
“After two years worth of meetings and phone calls with the
Pentagon and community leaders in Great Falls, we've secured an Air
Force C-130H mission for MANG. The C-130H is a highly valued
mission that requires significant operations and maintenance
personnel. Our goal in securing this mission was to keep a flying
mission for the Air Guard while maintaining our job strength. The C130H mission does both—in a way that fits our nation's military
strategy and our state's homeland security needs. This move will
strengthen our state and the city of Great Falls and it's an example of
the community working hard together to achieve something big. I
look forward to its arrival.” My question is, “why does Great Falls
have to lose the F-15 mission? The loss of the F-15s will be a
substantial loss of: income, revenue to the city, and a loss of
personnel.” Write your congressman and tell them that you want the
F-15s to remain in Great Falls, along with the addition of the C130Hs.

New Counseling Program Unveiled
“For the Good of the Order”
A new counseling service between veterans and National Guard and
Reserve members was unveiled in December in the nation’s capitol.
It is aimed at easing the reintegration process. The National Guard’s
Vets 4 Warriors program allows for toll-free, peer-to-peer counseling
for Guardsmen and Reservists with veterans, serving as the
counselors to help link callers, with the right tools and resources.
The completely anonymous hotline is available 24 hours a day, seven
days a week, and is accessible through the internet. To learn more
about Vets 4 Warriors, or to speak with a counselor, service and
family members can call the Vets 4 Warriors toll-free hotline at 1855-Vet-Talk (838-8255) or go to the www.Vets4Warriors.com
website
