Herman Green (806) 356-7070 The DAV needs more participation. The meetings are open to anyone to
observe. We have benches for visitors so come out to see what we are doing. The DAVA (Auxiliary) also
meets in same building. We also have an organization for children , but do not have any members in it
yet. Only members can participate. The building is non-smoking. To be a member, you need to have a
Service connected disability even if it is 0%. Come Join the good people there.

Commander Ron Hearn’s Remarks:
and they presented a donation from the employees at
the bank in the amount of $1519.38. Also a donation of
$70.00 was donated by Tony Tadlock. Commander Ron
Hearn utilized his van again July 4th in the canyon
Parade. Herman Green donated the candy for the
kids. At our last meeting we elected officers for the
year 2013 and 2014. The same officers as 2013 will
serve again. On a sad note we lost our dear friend and
Comrade George Koumalats whom had been a member
of Chapter # 26 for over 30 years. George was one of
the biggest helpers on the DAV Funeral flag detail and
George had held all the officers jobs including
Commander. George was one of a kind and will be
greatly missed. Thanks, Adjutant Earl Clift

Adjutant Earl Cliff’s Remarks:
Herman, here is my input for the newsletter: Chapter
26 has been busy the last few months trying to recruit
more veterans to become members of the DAV and it
looks like it's paying off. we had 23 members and
guests show up at the last meeting June 22nd.
Hopefully this is an idication that we are doing
something right. we have another membership drive
planned for September at the Walmart store on I-40
and Grand street. At our meeting June 22nd we were
graced to have Gary and Jeanne Freedman who are
emplyees of the Amarillo National Bank join our chapter

Herman Green Remarks:
We are going to have the float in the Tri
State Fair parade on 14th of September.
This is the Start of the Fair. We need
people to ride the float and walk
alongside. I have flags to hand to the
crowd. We do not want these to drop on
the ground. The people we had had a
blast. Please tell everyone & let’s show
Veteran support. It makes me proud of
our country when I see children stand
and salute as the float passes by.
Everyone wanting to show support for
our Soldiers, Sailors, and Air Force men
& Women.
We will also be at the Wal-Mart on
IH40&Grand Streets on Sunday 15th.
This is our way to let the community
know about us & what we do. This will be
an effort to help Veterans and get new
members. We need people to sit & help us
at both entrances. We did this at Gem
Lake road this month & signed up 5 new
members. We will be handing out
patriotic tattoos to all the kids. I’m not
rich, but I feel rich when I give back to
the community. Come help us. If you are
interested, call me (806) 356-7070
Herman Green, or contact any officer.
