News and Notices:




Our fourth grade Book Bowl team, including Sophia, performed wonderfully this
week! A big thanks to Ms. Shelley for coaching.
Next Friday is our next early release at 10:45 AM.
Spring Break is April 14-21. School resumes on April 22nd.
VIP (Very Important Person) Sharing has begun. Students will tell you about it, but
they can bring in non-expensive/precious things that tell about themselves. They
also may bring an adult(s), treat, anything they choose that is appropriate. I don’t
have special paperwork filled out for kids to bring in animals at this time. Questions,
contact me. The times for the sharing are 9:05-9:25 A.M.

Math:
 Continuing with long division, multiplication (2 digit by 2 digit) and division facts,
long division (3 digit by 1 digit numbers,) x10 and x100 strategy, using known facts
strategy, using 10 facts strategy, fact tests, exit slips, array model,
www.khanacademy.org. for leveled activities, as well as fact assessments for quarter
3.
Literacy
 Biographies-Someone alive or deceased who changed the world for the better,
continued reading with expression and enthusiasm, making predictions based on
features of a text, correcting grammar on our “Pink Daily Oral Language” worksheets,
creating Oumar and Ms. Pawelski’s birthday book, and note-taking on information for
our biography projects. Students will be making a poster, a digital “Flip Chart,” or
building an object as well as writing a 5-paragraph essay. New: spelling list #2. Last
week I introduced spelling words for week 1 and we took a quiz on Friday. Quizzes
should come home on Fridays graded. Please ask for them. Students have a second
list to study to keep at home. 15 words per week.
