13-15 May, 2014, SIAL CHINA is poised to serve the international food & beverage industry one more time! The
show has rapidly grown into 8 halls taking over 100,000sqm (+20% vs 2013). With more than 2,400 exhibitors
(+7% vs 2013) from 61 countries, they are prepared to greet more than 45,000 professional visitors (+9% vs 2013).
SIAL CHINA 2014 will be co-located with Bakery China and SIAL WINE WORLD.

Meat - SIAL CHINA 2014 will dedicate its hall N2, occupied over 12,000 sqm meat exhibiting area for the rising
meat demand. Exhibitors from Uruguay, Denmark, Belgium, Spain, USA, Germany, Canada, France, Argentina,
United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and more will show their products at SIAL CHINA 2014. Unlike western
diet, China hadn’t been a red meat consuming nation. Along with changing diet and taste, the surging demand has
altered the meat market terrain in China. SIAL CHINA 2014 is the only professional place to fulfill the rising
demands in Asian meat market.
Seafood - Visitors will find seafood exhibitors from Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand and other Asian
countries. Exhibitors from Norway, Sweden, USA, Australia and many more will also bring their products. Many
on-site events will highlight exhibitors’ seafood, such as Sea Food Zone - organized by China Aquatic Products
Processing and Marketing Association, Chinese famous and leading seafood enterprises will get together and come

Fruit and Vegetable Zone - Organized by Foreign Economic Cooperation Center, Ministry of Agriculture of
China, export-oriented enterprises and growing enterprises of apples, oranges, lychees, melons, pears and peaches
from Shanxi, Shaanxi, Jiangxi, Guangxi, Shandong, Liaoning, Xinjiang, Gansu, Ningxia, Guizhou, Hunan, Hubei,

France is the first European supplier of agrifood products to the Chinese market, exporting 2.2 billion Euros worth
in 2013. 75 agrifood businesses are present in China, with wines and spirits forming the main pillar, and other
sectors contributing with +50% growths (dairy products, cereals, bakery/pastries…). France will have a strong
representation during the SIAL CHINA 2014 with more than 60 companies representing diverse sectors present
across 3 halls: the Food Hall (N4), SIAL WINE WORLD (N1) and Meat Hall (N2). Many gastronomic events will
be held both in the French Pavilions and in La Cuisine by SIAL with a focus on biscuits, chocolate and sweets in

Processed Seafood Market, by Seafood Type
Fish is expected to dominate the market in terms of market value and is estimated to grow at a modest pace. Crustaceans are
projected to show rapid growth in the coming years. Other category accounts for a very low share and are expected to grow at a
meager pace in the future.

Meat sales boom in China
Sheepmeat and beef sales boomed in China in 2013 with mutton rising 254 per cent to 57,888 tonnes.
Despite an estimated one million tonnes of meat being smuggled across the Chinese border, and strong competition from New
Zealand, Australian produce was in high demand with red meat exports totalling 256,993t - 17pc of Australia's total exports.
