Principal’s News
Upcoming events:
An information/induction evening for new Junior Infant
parents will take place on Tuesday next September 15th at
7pm here at the school. All parents/guardians of Juniors are
requested to attend.
Hospice coffee morning
We will host our annual Hospice coffee morning in the
school hall on Thursday morning 17th from 9.30 to 11. All
proceeds to Cahercalla Hospice. Donations of baking on the
morning are very gratefull received. Please drop them into
the school hall on the morning.
European Project
Our school is delighted to have been selected as part of a
Europe wide project which celebrates best practice across a
number of areas including Literacy, Numeracy, Science and
Thomás
technology. Our school’s work on Accelerated reader,
Incredible years, Lego, Scratch programme is being
recognized and four members of staff will travel to Portugal
at the end of September sharing best practice with
colleagues from Norway, Denmark, Greece, Portugal and
Ireland. The RECIPE programme is fully funded by Leargas
and further information is available on

First class news
Split the Pot
Since it began in June, Split the Pot has raised €2100 and every
cent goes to support initiatives at our school. Thanks to the
Parents’ Council members who oversee the draw every week
(even during holiday time). This week’s winner was Aneta Pluta.
The pot was €346.

Thursday mornings from 10-12.30am beginning on September

Adult Education Classes starting in Ennis September 2015
Free Computer classes for Parents
Courses arefor beginners. Theywill cover the basic skills needed to use a
computer/laptop, including using email, the Internet and online safety for
adults and children.

Many thanks to families who have been so prompt in paying
the book rental, supplies and insurance fees. This very much
helps to balance the books here at the school at a time when
funds are tight and the department doesn’t give any grants

Pre-school news
Millie’s Nana had a party in a hotel. How very fancy!
Conor went to bed on time for school. James was in
Spanish Point over the weekend. Tommy Lee’s Mom has a
really cool phone. Abbie loves chatting to Mom and Dad
and Noah loves snuggling with his Mom and Dad. Maisie’s
Mom was gone to the shop to buy a book all weekend.
Ronan had Cheerios and went to the balls with Jamie.
Thomas went to the Clare Inn with Mommy. Nathan
played with his uncle Mikey all weekend. Seán loves to
stay up late. Karlee went to the balls, it was fun. Molly
went swimming so too did Antoni. Cory is back, he went
to Poland, Slovakia, Disneyland, the pool and a
waterpark. His Mom is the best Mom ever. Lucy walked to
school today. Ruth can now swim in the big pool with no
arm bands. Tiernan went camping, he slept in a tent.
Evan loves playing with Mom, Dad and Thomas.

Acorns Class News
Mitchell had a great holiday in Spain and
loves dinosaurs. Dermot really enjoyed
playing parachute games with Junior Infants
AND he loves the tambourine too! Michaela
said ‘water’ for the first time this week AND
she LOVES singing in the microphone. Callum
burst loads of bubble on the swing this week
and he sat on Ted! (We ALL sat on Ted! He
didn’t mind though!)
Junior Infant news
Rianne ate some lovely marshmallows last weekend.
Isabella went to buy new toys with her Mammy. Eva went to Majorca on
holiday. Sadie fed some grass to the horses. Shane went to the hotel on
holidays and there was a snooker table there. Leah fed an apple to a
foal. Cian R. went to the Irish rugby match and he brought his big blue
and yellow flag. Cian K. went to the beach with his dog. Alison went
out in a boat to see some seals. Eric went to the beach and he watched
the match. Fionn went the lazy river in Portugal and he went on the
water slides. Patrick B. went to France with his family. Hollie went
collecting shells at the beach and then went to a farm. Ruby went to
the beach and threw rocks into the water with Luke. James saw the
hurling All-Ireland and Kilkenny beat Galway. Evie fell into the water at
the beach in Kilkee and her Mam laughed. Michéal went horse riding.
Rhys had a sleepover at his Nana’s house. Aoife went to Kerry for 2
days and she saw dolphins and buried some rocks in the sand. Darcy
went to the Aquadome in Kerry. Ciara has a baby brother called and
Cian he is one. Aobhininn went to the zoo and she saw lions and
flamingos. Thomas went mountain biking in the forest. Críodhe and
Hollie S. have the same toy. Patrick’s Daddy fell but he’s ok. Thank
goodness! Chloe went to Lanzarote on her holidays. Dani visited Granny
in Kilkenny. Hollie had a sleepover at her friend’s house. Wladek has a
little brother called Anthony. Alex would love to go to Disneyland Louis
has a Fireman Sam book.
First class news
First Class First Class are lucky to have Eileen join our class this week!
Eileen visited his cousins and they had a party.
Kayden and Zach S had fun playing with their friends.
Ella learned a new kind of splits.
Zach A hurt his head at Cusack Park
Katlyn visited Roisin ‘s house on Saturday.
Eoin wento to see Inside Out in the cinema with Ellie the Elephant.
Sorcha went to French lessons.
Katlyn fell off the trampoline at Ella’s house but thankfully sheis okay!
Dylan is looking forward to watching Inside Out.
Ryan was playing soccer with his friends.
Crea has lovely wavy hair after the weekend.
Orla and Ella ‘s brothers birthdays are this Monday.
Oran was busy playing outside.
Mattie loved the steam room after going swimming with his dad.
Eloise loves her new orange and purple drink bottle.
Jennifer ‘s birthday was on Sunday.
David had great fun picking his treats in the shop.
Emma baked a yummy chocolate cake with her mom.
Sean was delighted the tooth fairy visited him when his tooth fell out.
James enjoyed making strawberry jelly.
Natasha used her thinking cap as she wrote as Gaeilge and did a great job!

Colin and Joseph are looking forward to the soccer match this week.
John was cheering on Ireland against Georgia in the football match.
The Green School’s Committee had great fun planting bulbs with Pauline in the
school garden.
Third and Fourth news
Hugh and Cillian were 9 on Monday. Seán G. will be 9
on Friday. Seán Arthur went to London. Hugh got 2
new Lego sets. Thomás got a new iPod cover and
Aaron got a new X-Box game. Dinadee’s friends came
to visit. John was in a transport box. Leah’s Dad
celebrated his birthday. Siobhán went swimming.
Thomas’ phone broke.
Mya’s brother will be one soon. Grace will be 10 on
Sunday. John and Michael have a hurling blitz on
Saturday. Zara is going to visit her baby cousin. Luke
B. got 2 new kittens and his cousin broke his nose.
Bronagh went to Enactment with her Dad and is going
camping in Doolin tomorrow. David and the boys in
the class went to Jack’s party. Jack enjoyed his party
in Quasar. Michelle planted roses and tulips. Adam got
new rugby boots. Today is Luke W’s birthday Shaun is
going to the party.
Senior Infant news
Tom went to Pony Camp and he got a lovely
rosette. He was playing hide and seek with his dog.
Liam started Tae Kwondo and he met Grace there.
Olivia N. learned to do the splits. Áine went to
Kerry and she went to the beach everyday on her
holidays. Reuben has a new baby cousin and his
name is Bobby. Ryan is really looking forward to the
news. Samuel got a new Canterbury tracksuit.
Kornelia went cycling with her brothers and her
Mom. Hollie and Lexie liked cycling their bikes at
the weekend. They went to the park and played in
the sand. Olivia D. Is going to the cinema on
Saturday to see “Inside Out.” Lily F’s. Mom is
feeling much better. Shane went to the playground
and he ate some ice-cream. Olivia is going to the
church on Sunday with her family.
Second class news
Abby slept over at Amy’s house. Alex O’. went roller
skating at the weekend. Ikjot also went roller skating
and his friend slept over. Amy walked her Grandad’s
dog Misty. Rhyan, Cian and his Dad minded his baby
cousin. Holly and Samuel went to O’ Regan Park
together. Scott McCoy went to Jump Lanes. Sinéad’s
house extension is nearly finished. Josh has a soccer
match on Thursday. Jill came third at a horse show on
Sunday. Oisín had a great time at Tayto Park. Kate
baked a cake. Alex H. has a blitz on Thursday. Isabel
couldn’t find her kitten. He eventually turned up in a
cupboard. It was Ava’s cousin’s birthday at the
weekend and it is her sister Freya’s birthday on
Monday. Veena went skating in O’ Regan Park. Sammi
got a new tablet. Emma’s cousins had a sleepover at
her house. Michael found €5 in his pocket. Sarah’s
cousin is visiting at the weekend. Zach has a match on
Thursday. Molly went to see a castle.
Fifth and Sixth news
Leighara went to Cathal’s house. Krzysztof enjoyed
celebrating his Mum’s birthday. Conor B. came 1st at a
show jumping competition. Holly went to Galway.
Cathal won the U11 soccer final. John is excited for
his brother getting his Junior Cert results. Arianna
played an U13 camogie match at the weekend. Katie
has a camogie match against Wolfe Tones this
Saturday. Tadhg’s brother is coming home from
Waterford for the weekend. Lee’s soccer team beat
the Buren 2-1.
Lucy stayed in Liscannor last weekend. Dylan is going
to the cinema on Friday. It's Ella's sisters birthday on
Friday and she will be 1.. happy birthday Freya. Katie A
is doing a colour run 5K in galway soon. Katie S went
to her nanas for dinner on Sunday. Ethan went to the
cinema with Cillian.
