We begin this week with news that there will be a
meeting of the Parents’ Council at the school hall on
Tuesday next, March 31st at 8pm. Every parent or
guardian with a child at our school is welcome to
attend. It is a great place to meet other parents, voice
an opinion and keep up to date with present and
future plans.
Thanks to everyone who sent in bottles for our
recycling project in conjunction with the parish. This
project is now finished. Please do not send in any
more.
Our third annual Easter Bonnet competition takes
place next Friday, April 3rd. €1 entry fee. All children
are asked to participate.
The Friends of Calcutta charity will collect old
mobile phones at our school next Thursday, April 2nd.
If you have old phones lying around at home, please
send them in and we will ensure that they are
recycled.
Three Interactive Whiteboards have been ordered for
the school at a cost of €9750. Three laptops have
also been ordered (these are necessary as the
classroom PCs operating systems were not
compatible with the new boards) at a cost of €1197.
The total cost therfore of installing Interactive
whiteboards in the final three rooms is €10,947. By
Easter, all classrooms will have Interactive boards.
Camogie training continues at the school field every
Tuesday and Thursday after school until 3.45pm.
Matches begin after Easter. All girls from 1st to 6th
are welcome.
Junior Infant news: Lucy is looking forward to a trip
to Kerry. Katie Sage was very sad this week because
her puppy, Taz died. Happy birthday to Katie
Arthur’s twin brothers Zac and Joe who were 1 this
week. Hugh’s sister Amelie jumped on the stairs and
hurt her leg, Katie McNamara can’t wait to go to
Dublin soon. Dylan is off to the Zoo at Easter. Jamie
went to the circus and Ethan hopes to go soon.
Abbygaile told us that she loves her mom! Lara has a
new DVD called ‘Tinkerbell’. Jane and Fionn are
both getting a new puppy.Ella can’t wait to go to the
Aquadome and finally, Happy birthday to Meigan is
a great big 5 this week!
Senior Infant news: Rosalie can’t wait to go to Paris.
Adam has a new football. Monica and her brother
Darragh have moved into their new house. Cillian
and Martyna love Dennis’ Den. Lauren Whelan is
counting the days to her birthday. Eamonn’s brother
cracked a bone in his leg. Ouch! Josh loves his
dinosaur game and has got past 10 levels. Fianna is
going to a party soon. Lauren Cuneen hurt her arm.
Milena’s poor dad has a sore throat. Get well soon
dad. Daniel is getting on well in Los Angeles.
First class news: Owen played with Jordan at the
weekend. Mark is going to see wrestling at the O2
Arena. Katie is going to her Nana’s for a sleepover.
Una’s sister Orla celebrated her birthday. J.J.s dad is
brilliant at the Playstation! Ellie really enjoyed the
bouncy castle at Lucy’s birthday. Emma had fun at
her granny’s house. Abby’s dad went to Liverpool to
see the match. Lucky duck! Leah went to Sligo at the
weekend and had fun at the beach. Zoran got a new
bike. Niamh can’t wait to visit Disneyland, Paris.
Codie’s auntie is expecting a baby. Get well soon to
Eve’s mam who is feeling under the weather at the
moment.
Second class news: Preparations are underway for the
First Communion. Jason enjoyed his visit to Patrick’s
house. Killian is off to Dad’s this weekend. Callum
enjoyed his trip to see Quin Abbey at the weekend.
Dionne had fun at the circus. Joshua got new shoes.
Megan is really got at teaching Gearóid new words.
Jade’s sister is going to see Tina Turner. Jordan is
getting a new Man U jersey. Jacob has a new cousin
called Olivia. Andrea has a new dog called Tiny. Eva
is performing in a play on Saturday. Enya won a
medal for skiing! James is looking forward to visiting
his grandad in Bandon.
Third class news: David is going to the movies.
Oisín’s granny is coming to visit. Saoirse is getting a
new bed. Ciara is going to Kilkee. Aideen is off to
Florida soon. Piote Drozd has a lovely new haircut.
Happy birthday to Michelle’s mum! Clara can’t wait
for her holiday in Spain. Alice’s dog won a
competition. Chantal is getting braces. Orla is going
to her cousin'’ confirmation.
Fifth class news: Rachel’s uncle got a new quad.
David Amer got his ear pierced. Happy birthday to
Shiva’s mam, Nathan’s dad and also to Amber and
Lucy who celebrate birthdays at this time.
Congratulations to Laura, Lucy, Jessica and Amber
who came highly commended at the Community
Games group singing competition in Sixmilebridge
last Saturday. The won beautiful certificates. Well
done girls. Rachel Sheedy’s cousin is coming to stay.
Well done to Davia, Tamara, Sorchadh, Dylan and
Levana who came fifth in the disco dancing
competition on Saturday. Best of luck to Gavin who
has a hurling match on Sunday.
Sixth class news: Marta is looking forward to getting
her new braces. Gail’s aunt has a new car. Sixth class
are looking forward to getting a new Interactive
whiteboard next week. Tríona’s dog had 4 puppies.
Happy birthday to Kelvin’s grandad. Paraic is
looking forward to his cousin’s wedding on Saturday.
Keith’s granny has a new dog. Best of luck to the
children in Sixth clas who take entrance exams for
secondary school on Saturday. Finally, Sixth class are
looking forward to their forthcoming trip to Limerick
to see the MIDAS Theatre group’s performance of
Aladdin.
