Title: Holy Emoticon!!!

This is a picture of a half of a socket, cropped and rotated to look
like an emoticon. The photo has a shallow depth of field. The
shutter speed and aperture seemed appropriate. The subject is in
full focus. I think this photo meets the requirements of ambiguous
space because it can take a second or two to recognize what you
are seeing and then translate it in two ways, socket or emoticon
(icon showing emotion).
This assignment was a bit challenging to me. I had to really think
of my photos from different perspectives. I thought about a class I
took this summer where one of the discussions was on Emoticons.
Should we use these when writing e-mails for business and personal
use? I use them for friendly, personal e-mails to show an emotion.
Sometimes it can be inappropriate to use them in business because
it doesn’t seem professional and may convey a different meaning to
someone else.
