Reception Class – September 2014
Parents and children are invited to a stay & play morning on Wednesday 9th July
from 10am to 11am. Your child can meet their teachers, become familiar with
their
newOpen
schoolEvening
and classroom and meet their new friends. We hope to see you

there.
Parents Open Evening will take place on Wednesday 9th July from 3.15pm until
4.30pm. This will be an opportunity for you to see your child’s work and have an
informal discussion with their class teacher.
Sports Day – Monday 14th July
Sports Day will take place on Monday 14th
July. Children will take part in events during
the morning and parents/carers are invited to
attend at 1.30pm. Pupils are asked to bring
PE Kit in school colours, if possible.
NUT are planning to strike on Thursday
10th July. Currently eight teachers
have notified us of their intention to
strike. Miss Foster, Mrs Beale, and Mr
Podmore are not affected by the strike
and children in their classes will be
expected to attend school as normal.
The Year 6 Leavers Assembly will take
place on Friday 18th July at 9.45am.
Parents, carers and other family
members are all welcome to attend.
The last day of term for the children will be
Friday 18th July. Children may wear their
own clothes and we are asking for a donation
of £1.00 per child to raise funds for playtime
activities. There will also be a disco for the
pupils. Please ensure that your child wears
appropriate clothes and footwear for outside
play.

Children who have achieved 100%
attendance from September 2013 will
be given the opportunity to take part
in a trip to Woodlands Camp in
Aldridge on Wednesday 16th July.
Parents will be notified of this closer
to the date.
