Mapping of on-going Strategies, Actions and
Processes at Regional Level in the Baltic Sea Region
relating to the Energy Union
Questionnaire sent to the CPMR Baltic Sea Commission Member Regions
Context: Following the re-launch of the Energy Working Group on 7 May 2015 in Vaasa, the
Working Group has decided to do a mapping of on-going actions in the form of projects,
networks and political strategies on a regional level.
We ask you to involve the relevant stakeholders within your Region. The questions are
broad and open. At this stage, we think it is also relevant for you to capture not only the
processes that you are leading but also those you are involved in so that we can identify
relevant stakeholders for future cooperation.
The Baltic Sea Commission Secretariat will compile all the information in a single document
to be worked through in a technical meeting on 7 October 2015 in Brussels.
The main objective is to have a “picture” of the state of play of the development in the
Member Regions. These databases will be updated annually.
It will of course be useful in our discussions with the EU institutions as well as with other
stakeholders in order to know more about what is happening in the Baltic Sea Regions in
relation to the processes of the EU Energy Union.
It will also support us in creating a content-driven Action Plan for the Baltic Sea Commission
and support the strategic process of the whole organisation, which was decided upon
during the last General Assembly in Vaasa.
