Position: Staff Nurse
Duties and Responsibilities:
 Managed surgical recovery of patients including vascular, cardiothoracic, ENT, Urological and Neurological cases.
 Performed and assisted insertion and maintenance of invasive
lines – arterial, triple-lumen, chest tubes, Pace makers, dialysis
catheters, and intubations. Technically proficient in all major ICU
skills.
 Monitor blood pressure and heart rate and provide supplemental
oxygen, mechanical ventilation for the lungs, and physical support
under critical circumstances.
 Electronic monitoring, Syringe Pumps, Multi monitors Suctioning
and providing other life-support measures.
 Responsible for health & safety compliance, infection control,
patient’s education, Treatment plans and follow-up care.
 Evaluate staffing requirements, floor assignments and organize
unit activities for surgical Unit, which provided service to
Orthopedics, Neurology and general surgery.
 Implement total patient care through a team nursing process
covering 8-10 critically ill patient per shift
 Assess patient status and notify to physicians of clinical changes,
coordinate services, treatments & consultations. Administer oral
&IV drugs as directed by Physician.
 ECG Test, basic ECG interpretation. Perform Iv Cannulation, IVF
therapy, and blood transfusion. Insertion of Foley catheter/condom
catheter, Nasogastric tube & wound dressing.
 Provided optimum health care checks for a wide-ranging
demographic of patients. Managed all aspects of blood pressure
tests, Women’s health clinic services and elder care services.
 Antenatal and Postnatal care and attention for babies.
 Monitoring the infant’s temperature and the amount of oxygen in
the blood.
 Collect blood samples necessary for blood investigations.
 Provide health training and education to patients like dietary and
activity restriction.
 Perform Nursing assessment, plan, implement, and evaluate
nursing care rendered.
 Provide chest physiotherapy to patients.
 Initiate CPR during cardiopulmonary arrest, operate defibrillator as
needed.
 Assist anesthetist during intubations, operate mechanical ventilator
with anesthetist consent.
 Observe and monitor closely the patients and report
developments.
 Assist physicians in CVP insertion, cut down, lumbar puncture &
wound suture.
 Conducted pre-procedural assessments, providing coaching and
teaching in conscious sedation, recovery & discharge.

1. Cardiac problems such as Acute MI,IHD, Myocardities,
Cardiomyopathy,CHF
2. Road traffic accidents with severe, multiple injury
3. Pneumothorax, Pulmonary Edema, Chronic obstructive
pulmonary disease, septicemia. Chronic renal failure,
Bronchitis.
4. Myocardial Infarction, Ischemic Heart Disease, Unstable
Angina, Cardiomyopathy, Congestive Cardiac Failure,
Pulmonary Edema, Supraventricular Tachycardia, A trial
Fibrillation, 1st,2nd,3rd Degree Atriventricular Block,
Cardiogenic Shock.
5. DM leading to hypoglycemia, Diabetic ketoacidosis or
diabetic coma, COPD, Bronchopneumonia.
