The Maker Movement
The maker movement is the umbrella term for independent inventors, designers and tinkerers. Makers tap into an
American admiration for self-reliance and combine that with open-source learning, contemporary design and
powerful personal technology like 3-D printers.
Live Demonstrations
Live demonstrations are planned by CSD Nano, Perpetua Power, Zaps Technology, and Vadent Optics to name a
few. In addition, the record-breaking Oregon State University (OSU) Shell EcoMarathon Vehicle will be on display
for all to see!
Young Innovators Zone
Come visit the Young Innovators Zone where innovators of all ages can build cool things such as light up electronic
circuit boards from scratch and amazing Lego® creations! WiN has teamed up with Bricks 4 Kids, ChickTech, da
Vinci Days, and PieDads to bring this special zone to the Expo.
Speed Networking
Looking to make a new business connection? The OSU Foundation is sponsoring the Speed Networking event at
the Expo this year as a fun (and fast) way to make a new local business connection. Representatives from
innovative companies from around the area will be stationed at tables armed with nothing more than a business
card and great story about what they do. What impression will you make in 3 ½ minutes?
