12th Grade Career Expo Preparedness
What is the 12th Grade Career Expo?
The Expo is a one-day, district-wide event for
approximately 1,400 DPS high school seniors who
are making critical college and career choices.
The event will feature a keynote speaker and
breakout sessions on career-related topics, as well as a career and college fair. This will
give seniors opportunities to network and learn more about our city’s workforce.
Location: Johnson & Wales University, 7150 Montview Blvd, Denver, Colorado 80220
Date: Friday, March 6, 2015
Time: Different schools will flow in and out throughout the day. Each school will receive
a scheduled time.
Who should attend the 12th Grade Career Expo?
Any student who desires a successful start in their college and career pathway and is unsure of
next steps in their career planning should attend.
Should I come even though I’ve been accepted into college?
Yes, especially if you are still undecided about your major or career goals. In addition to career
exploration, there will be workshops assisting students with college and career strategies and
goals. Also, there will be job opportunities available throughout the summer, fall and beyond.
Should I come if I already have a job?
Yes, there will be college/career workshops and companies offering career opportunities for
those who wish to network and expand their career options.
Prerequisites:

Must pre-register: Complete the survey on Naviance by February 6th. Space is
limited!

Must have a resume

Must complete a Naviance survey and the Student Preparedness Timeline

