Choose TWO activities in addition to the MUST DO!
Mystery of the Deep:
Write a proposal for a trip of
discovery in Alvin. Research an
idea for your own project. After
you choose a project, gather facts
and details and write a proposal
about where you want to go, what
you hope to discover, the value of
your expedition, why the Alvin is
necessary. Remember to be
persuasive!
Take the Plunge:
Sometime in the future, deep sea
submersibles may become much more
common. Someone may lead tourists on
trips beneath the blue waters. Plan, write
and illustrate a travel brochure to
persuade tourists to take the plunge.

Denizens of the Deep:
Research ocean animals. Use
pictures and diagrams to help
organize your animals into
categories. In your writing,
describe how you divided the
animals into categories and some
facts about each animal.
Oceans of Poems:
Write a poem to celebrate the new
discoveries beneath the blue waters. Express
the excited of discovery with a word such as
discovery, frontier, or adventure. Write an
acrostic poem using each letter to start a
new line of poetry.
