Notes to the Class of 2016
GRADUATION CAP/GOWN AND TICKET
DISTRIBUTION
Caps/gowns and tickets will be distributed on
Wednesday, April 6th. This will be held during lunch
periods in the Adapted P.E. Gym. This is a CLOSED
campus lunch day, and a free lunch will be provided.
COMMEMORATIVE PROGRAM
The Commemorative Program is Tuesday, May 17th
at 7:00pm in the main gym. This is optional for
students and parents to attend. There will be
student speakers, a guest staff speaker, student
performers and the senior video. Graduates are
asked to arrive no later than 6:30pm to the main
cafeteria. There is no rehearsal for this program.
Seniors are required to wear their red graduation
gown (no caps).
GRADUATION PRACTICE
Graduation practice will be on Wednesday, May 18th
at 9:00am in the main gym. Attendance at practice
is mandatory for all seniors wishing to participate at
the graduation program. Students not in attendance
at practice will not be allowed to participate in the
graduation ceremony.
SENIOR CLASS BEACH PARTY
The Senior Class Beach Party will follow graduation
practice at Centennial Beach from 11:00am-2:00pm.
There will be music, volleyball, swimming and a free
lunch.
INCLEMENT WEATHER PLAN
In the event of rain on Wednesday, May 18th the
ceremony will be held indoors that evening with one
ceremony at 7:00pm. The two tickets issued for the
indoor ceremony will indicate main gym seating.
Additional overflow seating will be available in the
auditorium and the main cafeteria. NO tickets are
needed for overflow seating.
HANDICAPPED PARKING AND SEATING
Very limited handicapped parking exists on campus.
A designated handicapped drop off zone will be in
the Porter Street bus turnaround area. See attached
map for handicap seating location. Chairs will be
provided.
GRADUATION BEHAVIOR
During the graduation program, all graduates and
guests are reminded that any unkind or improper
actions will not be tolerated. All are expected to
behave with respect for the program, graduates,
parents, relatives, and other guests in attendance.
Attendees want to hear their graduate’s name read.
GRADUATION ATTIRE
Students who choose to participate in
Commencement will be expected to comply with the
following dress requirements:
 Boys–shirt, tie, slacks, socks and dress shoes
 Girls-dresses and dress shoes (Narrow
heeled shoes are NOT permitted; flat shoes
are recommended)
GRADUATION TICKET INFORMATION
Two inclement weather tickets will be distributed on
Wednesday, April 6th at the Cap/Gown and Ticket
Distribution. Lost tickets cannot be replaced. Due
to limited seating in the main gym, NO extra tickets
will be available from the school. Please do not call
the school for extra tickets.
COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY
The Commencement Ceremony will be held on
Wednesday, May 18th at 7:00pm at Memorial
Stadium. No tickets needed for outdoor ceremony.
Seating is based on a “first come, first served” basis.
Gates will open at 6:00pm. If you arrive after
6:30pm, please consider bringing a lawn chair, as
seating may no longer be available.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Recognizing the desire of parents and friends to have
photographs of the formal ceremony, we have made
the following arrangements.
 Grad Images will take photographs of each
student as he/she receives his/her diploma.
Proofs will be mailed to your home.
 Zaker Video Production will videotape the
ceremony. Order form attached.
NO individuals will be allowed onto the field area
to videotape or take pictures.
