Etihad Airways in Abu Dhabi
Introduction:
Etihad airway is a national airline company in the United Arab Emirates. It was
established by royal decree that comes from HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the crown
prince of Abu Dhabi that time and the prince of United Arab Emirates nowadays, since July
2003 (History. (n.d.). The company has a board of governors to govern it with HH Sheikh Hamed bin
Zayed Al Nahyan as its chairman (History. (n.d.) and HH Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nahyan the
vice chairman of the board (Board of directors. (n.d.). Moreover, its head office is located in Khalifa
City A, Abu Dhabi, near Abu Dhabi International Airport and it’s another branch is in Dubai,
Sheikh Zayed road (Our offices. (n.d.). Furthermore, the word “Etihad” is Arabic word which means
“union” (Our history. (n.d.). Also, the company’s history started in November 2003 with the first
experimental short journey in the 5th of November 2003 to Al Ain (History. (n.d.). Then in 12th of
November in the same year, it actually started to operate in different countries including, Beirut
(History. (n.d.). Etihad airline has a vision and mission to be done and reached. Etihad tries to reflect
the best airline organization regarding to the hospitality and to enhance the prestige of Abu
Dhabi, the capital of United Arab Emirates (Vision. (n.d.). Moving to their mission, According to
Mr. A who works in custom inspection department he clarified that Etihad hopes to be the best
airline in the world and their aim is to be a 21st century worldwide airline, challenging and
changing the conventions of airline hospitality.

According to Mr. A who works in custom inspection department, he said that there are
more than 10,656 employees and approximately more than 5400 Emirati employees work in the

Moving to the Emirati employees Mr. A said that the strategies that Etihad Airways
follow are providing a comfortable environment, ethically and socially responsible in order to
hire emirates which he think that these strategies are the most important thing for them. Talking
about the Emiratisation policy, Emiratis unique experience and insight into the culture and
traditions of the UAE is a key ingredient in the company’s future success. Also, finding talented
Emirati nationals is a top priority for Etihad Airways where it developed a comprehensive
Emiratisation program to achieve this.

I have chosen this incredible company because I am interested in in working in it, taking
challenges and love to gain new experiences. Moreover, I used to travel via the Etihad Airways
previously and I loved their working environment. Another reason that I want to state is that the
corporation is doing well and has a high productivity and good service. Frankly, my career goals
match the vision and mission of Etihad Airways were I will have enough opportunity to acquire
knowledge and information in order to give my best. I am attentive and eager to work in a sector
where you can deal with people with different nationalities. Furthermore, my skills, my
personality and my abilities are related to this company and I will increase the hospitality. I will
help the company to be the best airline in the world and try my best to be a 21st century
worldwide airline, challenging and changing the conventions of airline hospitality. When it
comes to the major, I am willing to specialize in transportation and logistics which means the
sector that broadly defined to include airlines and airfreight, shipping, road, rail transport and the
associated infrastructure and services. I am excited in working in this interesting major because
my skills matches with my major where I am enthusiastic and keen to work in a sector where you
can communicate with people, be professional, creative, have a good quality of service and
working condition.
Company’s Main Activities:
To begin with, Mr. A said that Etihad airline focuses more on services more than their
products, because their business depends more on serving different kinds of customers. They
provide wonderful experience for the customers who are travelling, website to make the booking
easier and it can be reached from both the internet and mobile phones and WiFi in the airport.
Moreover, the company insures the quality of meals is good and satisfies the customer’s tastes
where they give the customers different kinds of choices of the meals. Also, for some of the
destinations they either take the customers directly to the destination or by combining with one
of their airline partners. Besides, Etihad Airways employ people who are well educated and
qualified; it trained them to be polite and helpfully to meet the needs and wants of its clients.
Moving to the product, he said that Etihad Airways products are tickets and Airplanes were they
are tending to be safe and comfortable for the customers. Each of the airplane classes are
different. The Diamond first class is designed very well and it looks very nice, it includes
cinematic widescreen, the customer can have his own personal space and the seat is a luxurious
brown flatbed, also the customer can play and plug his iPod, laptop and X-box. Following this,
the customer can have his own changing room and he can change the atmosphere as he like
which makes the airplane the most comfortable place for the customers.

I have chosen this incredible company because I am interested in in working in it, taking
