Presidents Report:
What a great finish to the year. Xmas Dinner ended up being a great success; everyone
really seemed to enjoy themselves.
Boxing Day Races – we ended up making a small profit even though the day was slow.
Thanks to all who helped on the day and clean the next day.
(John was interviewed by Carol Stiles and was on the ‘Country Life’ National Programme!)
Another calendar year has started. We have DG Paula’s convention this month. Hope some
of you can get to the convention in one way or another. We are looking after the cartage of
Lions members to the Saturday night dinner etc.
This tea meeting is at Rodney’s. Rodney is organising activities before dinner so we need to
be there at 5:30pm and be willing and able to do the activities required.
Remember, meat supplied, please bring salads and dessert.
See you at Rodney’s and the convention.

Counselling
A husband was having great difficulty getting along with his wife – nothing but arguing and friction – so he
decided to consult a marriage counsellor.
After they had talked for a while, the counsellor said, "I suggest that you run five miles each day for a week.
It'll give you some space and the exercise will help you blow off steam. At the end of the week, please call
me back."
A week later the counsellor received a call from the husband, "Well," asked the counsellor, "how are things
going with you and your wife?
"How should I know?" said the husband.
"I'm thirty-five miles away."
Driving
A lady in her 90s crashed into the back of another car.
When the policeman asked for her license she explained that she didn’t need one anymore.
As her doctor had taken it, cut it in half, put it in the bin and said at her age she no longer needed a license
to drive.
Police
Police arrested two kids yesterday, one was drinking battery acid, and the other was eating fireworks.
They charged one and let the other one off.
Check your gardens for plants suitable for Rachel to pot up for the plant sale on the 12th of
April
