Moderated by Professor David Booth
(Professor Emeritus, speaker, writer and educational consultant)
What will schools look like in 25 years? Will emerging technologies lead to the radical re-invention of
elementary and secondary classrooms? What is the role of the teacher in these new classrooms? Will
schools survive in their present form, or are we on the verge of creating entirely new ways of
educating our youth?
In recent years, our everyday lives have been transformed by social media, touch-based
technologies, and the ubiquity of the web. The educational implications of these changes are unclear
– the Centre for Science, Mathematics and Technology Education invites you to join us in exploring
this important issue.
Our panel of OISE experts will engage in a lively discussion to consider both the incremental
improvements that technology is making to our current-day school system and the potential that
technology offers for a large-scale systemic transformation.
