CANNINGTON HEALTH
CENTRE
HOW CAN YOU HELP
US TO HELP YOU

Be willing to accept a same day
appointment with a nurse

When booking an appointment,
please be as specific as possible
about your needs so that
receptionists can book the right
length of time with the right
nurse

Wear clothing that makes
procedures easy – e.g. short or
loose sleeves if you are having a
blood test or your blood pressure
taken

If possible, take off some of your
outer clothing in the waiting room

Let us know, with as much notice
as possible, if you are unable to
keep your appointment

WHAT PROBLEMS
CAN A NURSE
PRACTITIONER
DEAL WITH?









Coughs and colds
Sore throats and earache
Sore eyes
Aches and pains including
backache, headache and period
pain
Rashes and skin conditions
Hayfever
Sickness and diarrhoea
Bladder problems
Respiratory disease, diabetes
and other long term conditions
This list is not exhaustive but gives you
an idea of scope. In fact our nurse
practitioner can deal with most
problems and if she cannot confidently
deal with your problem she will take
further advice from a doctor.
We prefer babies and very young
children to see the doctor rather than
a nurse.
