Goat check-in
Depending on which shows you choose to exhibit in, here are the check-in times. You only
need to check in one time/day.
Friday, May 22 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 23 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Sunday, May 24 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

Goats entered in the MGR shows must be registered by the Myotonic Goat
Registry. The ORIGINAL registration certificate MUST accompany the goat during checkin. Kids under three (3) months of age must be registered for any sanctioned classes. No
pending registrations will be accepted at check-in.
If a goat is not registered with the MGR and the exhibitor is not a member of the MGR,
the goat(s) will show in the Open Show.
MGR and open show goats will not compete against one another. MGR registered goats
will compete with other registered goats. Open goats will compete against goats
entered in the open show only.
Age eligibility for classes will be determined by date of birth on the registration
certificate.
Goat entered in the MGR show must have the full correct registered name of the goat on
the entry forms.
ALL goats must have a permanent ID on its body such as tattoo or Scrapie tag or ear tag.
The MGR goats permanent ID (USDA scrapie tag or tattoo) must be on the Certificate and
registered with the MGR.
The correct Breeder/Exhibitor name as on the Reg. Certificate must be on the entry form,
unless you have a signed transfer application that is dated 45 days or less to the show
date.
9. Substitutions will be allowed at Check in within the same class at no charge.
10. Goats must be checked in from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2015 or 7:00 to 8
:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015 and Sunday, May 24, 2015.
11. Goats will be released immediately after the completion of the show for each day.
12. All goats must have a health certificate for each goat. Scrapie rules apply. Tattoos must
be legible. Scrapie tags are acceptable. You must be bring an extra copy of your goat’s
health certificate that will be retained by the show secretary.
13. All goats must be shown with collar. Bucks must be secure at all times.
14. Show secretary reserves the right to split large classes.
15. Entry fee:$9.00 per goat/per show.
16. Entries postmarked after May 8, 2015 are subject to late entry, which is $12.00 per goat.
Entries must be received no later than May 15, 2015 and fees mush be paid at the time of entry.
17. MGR Rules to govern and to take precedence over all others
18. No refunds of entry fees.
19. All goats on the property must be entered in the show.
20. No percentage goats: must be Myotonic.
21. MGR exhibitors must be aware of and abide by the Official Sanctioned Show Rules of the
MGR, which can be found on the show page of the MGR website.
22. Any item that comes up that is not specifically covered by these rules will be decided by
the show personnel and their decision will be final.
23. All goats entering Iowa for exhibition must meet all the requirements for entry into
Iowa. Goats will be examined on grounds by show personnel before unloading. Any
goat found to show evidence of sickness will not be allowed to unload; no refunds will be
given for these goats. Goats showing evidence of disease, particularly foot rot, sore
mouth, abscesses, healing wounds or lumps will not be allowed to enter the barn or
show and may be released by officials.
24. No animal with an open wound shall be allowed to be unloaded on the showground. The
organizers of this show and the facility will not be liable for any loss, damages or
accidents to animals, persons or property while participating in the show. Youth
exhibitors are to be accompanied by a responsible adult.
25. No alcoholic beverages or smoking in the barns or arena allowed.

Youth Bred and Owned Doe: The doe being shown must be owned by the MGR
youth member showing it. Doe can be any age.
Class 31.
Youth Bred and Owned Buck: The buck being shown must be owned by the
MGR youth member showing it. Buck can be any age.
Class 32.
Youth Bred and Owned Wether: The wether being shown must be owned by the
MGR youth member showing it. Wether can be any age.
Showmanship Classes
Classes 33-36 are open to MGR members only

Pee Wee Showmanship : Free & open to all children less than 6 yrs of age.
Junior Showmanship : Free for breeders 6 to 9 years of age.

Showmanship Challenge:
This class is open to the winners of Junior Showmanship, Junior High Showmanship, and Senior
Showmanship. It will be right after the conclusion of Senior Showmanship. No entry fee is required.

may occur. Each exhibitor will be solely responsible for their own liabilities, if incurred, as well
as damage or injury to any other person or property caused by the exhibitor or animals they

Statement of Liability: Show management and/or Clarke County Fairboard shall not be
responsible for loss, injury, or damage of any sort occurring in conjunction with the
show. Any person present during these events shall be solely responsible for their own
damages, if any and any loss, injury or damage to others caussed by them or their
animals.
