SYNOPSIS OF WORK (50 words):
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR VIDEO *Must be submitted on mini-dv or dvcam format, or uploaded to the server (see below).
*Must be less than 15 minutes *Must have titles and credits, black at heads and tails *Must be accompanied by entry form and a jpeg image
(synopsis and image may be supplied on CD) ***Each entry must be supplied on separate tape, No exceptions. Jury is not responsible for
tapes if damaged or lost. VPA students are responsible to pick up tapes at festival or from checkout.*** Jury Selection Process, April 30
Notification of Selection via email: May 3 Screening and Award Ceremony: May 7.
*TO UPLOAD A VIDEO: (compress your video H.264, full frame, 720 x 480 or 1920 x 1080; name it with video with your name, ie.
Joe_smith.mov; you must submit an entry form and jpeg with video; make a folder and place video, jpg and entry form in it to upload)
1) From the CSUSM network, use your desktop/ Finder Go > Connect to Server
2) Type in afp://afp1 will think for a minute, ask for your name/pw, and a box will open with a list of volumes you can mount.
3) Choose Video from the list and click OK. The Video volume will come up. Your folder is called StudentMediaFestival
4) Double click the StudentMediaFestival folder to open and put your folder containing video, entry form and jpg.
5) Make sure to give a hard copy of the entry form into one of the drop points so we know it has been entered.
