Coming Soon!“Farrington YMCA Night” – This is a PTC sponsored FREE

FUN event for all of our families! Meet us at the Y to use the gym, swim in the pool and visit with other Farrington Families from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on

Saturday April 6 th . Students MUST be accompanied and supervised by an adult for this event! There will be some raffles that night to support our PTC and all the GREAT work they do!

Kindergarten Screening: We are now scheduling screening appointments for next year’s K students! Students must be 5 years old by October 15, 2013.

Our screening dates at Farrington are May 20 th & 21 st – please call the school office @ 626-2480 to schedule an appointment!

Lunchroom Microwave – We are fortunate to have a microwave available to students at lunchtime. Unfortunately, we are having a few problems. The intent of the microwave is for students to use it independently for a quick re-heat of leftovers or small meal. Lately, students are using it to cook popcorn and then not eating any lunch. Another problem is that younger students are not able to cook some packages by themselves and our monitors are busy watching over the whole cafeteria and cannot always help. Please consider these reminders when planning your student’s lunch – we do not want to take away this privilege for our students.

Conference Week – WOW what a successful week we had at Farrington meeting with so many parents! Everyone knows how important communication is for student achievement and success at school – Thanks for showing your children how much you care about their education! It is a

little thing that truly makes a BIG difference!

Silent Lunch – Have you heard about “silent lunch” in the cafeteria every day? This is new this year and was implemented in order to give students a chance to eat their lunch in a more relaxed setting. (Many students were not eating and feeling anxious in the cafeteria) They are only asked to do “silent lunch” for 5 minutes! We ask that students are silent and respectful during this time to allow others to finish eating.

Mud Season – Our playground becomes very wet and very muddy at this time of year! We want students to go outside as much as possible to get exercise and fresh air. Students may want to consider having some extra socks or pants in their backpack in case of an emergency. Unfortunately, some students make poor choices and deliberately get wet and muddy and then want to call home – this is not allowed. We want students to become more responsible for their own actions and face logical consequences.
