Woodlands
Legend:
The Iroquios Nation: The Iroquois Nation is made up of 5
different nations-Cayuga, Onedia, Onodaga, Seneca and
Mowhawk. A young man named Dekanawida, from the
Huron tribe, traveled amongst all 5 warring nations. His message to the each of
them was one of peace and strived to rid the nations of their conflict. By
working together with other chiefs Dekanawida was able to convince each
nation to join forces and accept the wise words of peace and establish them as
the Great Law. Al 5 nations agreed and they
became the Five Nations of the Iroquois.
Dekanawida is known as the Peacemaker.
