COE Tooling Engineer (M/F)
MAIN OBJECTIVE:
Within our Tooling Engineering Department, your main objective will be the implementation
of moulds and gauges for Johnson Controls European plants or competitors in accordance
with the company quality standards, reflecting required flexibility, timing and costs.
To reach this goal, you will have to:
- Define and update Johnson Controls tooling standards on the basis of foam pad design
and in accordance with BOS procedures; propose, establish and update the tooling
standardization between plants.
- Ensure the Johnson Controls Standard Tooling specifications are implemented in all
new tools during industrialization, quality & manufacturing processes:
• Realize tooling specifications developed in accordance with Process DFM (“Design For
Manufacture), SDT (“Simultaneous Development Team”) & Launch Meeting
• Ensure that the tools introduced are conform with internal or external regulations for
everything that relates to user safety
• Launch tooling after Program Mgr green flag and ensures the technical relationship
with the supplier or subcontractor.
- Monitor, update & supply all relevant tool information to Program Mgr including leadtimes, time, change & quality:

Create “Request For Quote” (RFQ) supplying detailed tooling composition and
complexity
Ensure correct tracking systems are in place and used to monitor quality / lead-times
from suppliers.
- Ensure that Plant Maintenance Dept is supplied with updated list of tool component
spare parts; manage the complete tooling package in terms of available quantities,
indices and storage facilities, as well as templates, models, plans that have been used
in their preparation.
- Provide technical information for project life to our customers.
EDUCATION SKILLS AND PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE:
- Engineer or equivalent with minimum 2 years experience in Design, Modelling or Tools
manufacturing
- Language skills: fluent English, French; German would be appreciated
- Process oriented / analytical mind / short term problem solving
- Ability to cooperate with people of different levels and to interact with teams
- Frequent travels to European Foam plants and toolmakers.
