The students will increase the percentage scoring Proficient or Advanced on the Algebra II assessment by 3.6% at the end of the 2014-2015 academic school year. The percentage of students scoring at Proficient or above levels for the 2014-2015 academic school year will 46.7 percent in order to meet or exceed adequate yearly progress in Algebra II. To ensure that, by the year 2025, 80% of Shelby County Schools’ students are career and college ready, 90% of students graduate from high school and 100% of students who graduate will enroll in a post-secondary learning opportunity. Teachers will participate in data sessions to analyze common assessment and Discovery formative assessment data, develop SMART goals, an action plan for re-teaching and reassessing, and interventions for students. Students will attend an extensive after-school tutoring program for the End of Course Algebra II. The Math department will host a “Curriculum Night.” Flyers and Parent Link will be used to inform parents and community partners such as Dr. Suzanne Bonefas from Rhodes College, Vickie Hester from Methodist Healthcares.
