Michigan Region Yearbook Competition Requirements
The following is a list of requirements and judging criteria that should be met in order to enter your chapter’s yearbook
into the regional competition. The yearbooks will be judged during the MI Regional Convention, by an alumni panel and a
Headquarters guest, if available. The timeframe for the yearbook entry is Regional Convention to Regional Convention
(currently May – May).
New format effective 2012:
Your chapter yearbook may be print or digital. Print yearbooks cannot exceed 50 pages in length and digital formats
must be able to be viewed in 5 minutes or less. You must provide the technology for digital yearbooks to be viewed by
the judging panel.
Basic Requirements:
1. Each yearbook must have an overall theme that brings the yearbook together. The theme may reflect the current
Honors in Action Topic, but any theme is acceptable. The theme must be carried out throughout the yearbook. In
years where the Honor Study Topic changes in January, you may choose either study topic as your theme or
combine them where appropriate.
2. The Yearbook must include four labeled divisions and be in this order:
a. “Honors in Action Project”
b. “ College Project”
c. “Your C4 (Community College Completion Corps) Initiative”
d. “Miscellaneous”
3. Each division should include activities and/or events related to that division. The chapter has the discretion to
determine which activity is best related to a specific division. Some overlap between divisions will exist and is
unavoidable.
4. You may use sub-headings to delineate within the above divisions. For example in the Honors in Action division,
you may have a sub-heading of Research, Leadership Roles, Leadership Development, Collaboration,
Action/Advocacy and/or Reflection.
5. The chapter may add additional divisions, such as a Memorabilia division that could include souvenir items or
coverage of events related to the college rather than the Society.
