Describe three different fitness training methods used to achieve excellence in a
selected sport.
P2
This assignment will be completed weekly for homework
1. Each week your teacher will explain / practically carryout a different method
of training. At the start of each lesson your teacher will tell you the
following information regarding each methods of training:





Explanation of the training session
The components of fitness the training method improves
Percentage of maximum heart rate the training method is working at (see
Training pyramid).
Advantages and disadvantages of each training method
How the training method can be used to achieve excellence in a
selected sport.
2. They will then guide you through a basic session using this method of
training. This will be teacher lead.
3. Finally in the lesson you will design your own session using this method of
training
At the end of each lesson it is important you DESCRIBE all details of your training
session using the booklet provided.
On successful completion you should have described all the training methods in
the journal. You must explain how the method of training can be used to achieve
excellence in sport.
The BEST Four written methods of training journal entries will be assessed to
achieve P2
