Vocabulary: TTW pass out a copy of
the week’s vocabulary words to each
student. TSW glue the vocabulary into
the voccabulary section of their
reading journals. TTW use the
PowerPoint below to introduce the
weekly vocabulary.

Persuasive Technique Edition
Comprehension: TTW use the ppt
linked below to discuss multiple
meaning words.
TSW pretend they are advertising executives and have been hired by a group of librarians to create
an add to promote reading. TSW choose a persuasive technique and create an add. They will write
their technique on the back. When complete, TTW display the items using the projector and TSW
name the technique used.

TODAY**
TTW give each student a graphic
organizer (p. 111) that they will fill out
while reading the ST story, Inventing
the Future (p.496).
Fluency: TSW whisper read their poem
of the week as a class. TSW trade
sheets with a partner. The partner will
underline any mispronouned words as
TS reads. TSW finish by reading the
poem together with their partner.
Comprehension Strategy:ToolKit:
TTW follow the Comprehension ToolKit lesson plan provided by reading coach. Copy will be in
binder.
All groups will work on ToolKit.
TSW finish ToolKit assignment.
Call blue group back and assist them with ToolKit.
Friday

TODAY**
Comprehension: TTW give each
student a Main Idea Probe to finish
independently. After students finish
probe, TTW go over the answers and
discuss with the class. TSW grade their
own papers using a red pen.
TSW turn in their Reading Responses.
Vocabulary: TTW give TS their vocab.
Quiz. TSW complete the quiz.
Comprehension: ARMT Practice:
Poetry
TTW use ARMT Item Specs entitled
Waiting to Get in the Game.
TSW read the poem on their own and
answer questions 1-7.
When students have finished, TT and
TSW read the poem together and go
over each question and discuss. TTW
allow students to turn and talk about
each question before discussion with
whole group. TSW correct their own
papers with a red pen.
