Manager, Wealth Solutions
Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to assist North Peace Savings & Credit Union in living out our
corporate Mission, “Helping our members succeed in life.” and our Service Mission, “To build
rewarding relationships through a superior service experience.” One of the primary means to achieve
this end is to develop a highly effective team of employees and develop each employee to their highest
potential through coaching and leadership. Responsible for ensuring that outstanding service is
delivered to both internal and external members. A key component of this service is to identify the
financial needs of the member and recommend an appropriate credit union solution.
Reporting to the AVP Retail and Business Solutions, the Manager, Wealth Solutions will be a top tier
wealth management sales profession in addition to managing the financial planning, budgeting,
forecasting and management reporting for North Peace Financial Planning. The Manager, Wealth
Solutions will drive financial analysis across asset business lines acting as a catalyst in identifying
solutions to improve financial and operating performance. The Manager, Wealth Solutions achieves
results through hands on sales activities and market leadership, implementation of strategic direction
and representation in the local marketplace and industry associations.
Working in partnership with Regional Managers, Manager of Retail Solutions and Manager of Business
Solutions the Manager Wealth implements strategies, processes and disciplines to achieve sustainable
earnings and revenue growth through the small business sales force. The Manager, Wealth solutions
coaches and develops an effective, adaptable sales team to maximize revenue and capitalize on
opportunities. As a leader you reinforce a superior client experience and enhance employee capability
and engagement while leveraging full capabilities, in platforms across the enterprise to deepen client
relationships.
Key Responsibilities

The Manager Wealth is responsible to:
 Ensure team delivers service to both internal and external members that is in alignment with
the credit union’s Service Promises.

 Develop each employee to their highest potential by identifying their areas for improvement
and appropriately coaching, training or correcting the employees’ performance.
 Recognize employees who perform at a high level.
 Hold employees accountable for their performance, attitude and behavior.
 Meet with each employee monthly to review previous month’s performance, set goals for
upcoming month’s performance and develop plans to improve employee’s performance.

Ensure that NPFP meets sales and service goals as established by the Credit Union.
Performs job duties within our bylaws, regulations, Board of Directors policies, established
internal and external service standards and our work procedures.
Demonstrate enthusiastic support of corporate mission, core values and long-term objectives.
Train and supervise staff. Assign, direct, coordinate and review work performed by staff.
Ensures staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development.
Establishes and monitors performance and development goals for staff, assigns
accountabilities, sets objectives, establishes priorities, conducts annual performance appraisals,
and administers salary adjustments.
Sales and Service
 Provides comprehensive advice to members/clients on personal investment and life insurance
products and assists them to make specific, informed and wise choices and to take actions that
improve their financial well-being.
 Through the interview process, determines specific client financial objectives and level of risk
tolerance then recommends products that identify challenges and opportunities and appropriately
meet these needs.
 Complete responsibility of the sales, service and operational management of the division.
 Responsible for proactively fulfilling Mutual Fund and Insurance Sales and Financial Planning to
members and non-members which is 80%-85% of the role.
 Deliver fee based revenue on Investments, Insurance.
 Enhances employee commitment and capability and member loyalty while leveraging full
capabilities, alternate delivery channels, and service partners.
 Champions sales management practices and leads in the implementation of strategic
initiatives.
 Achieve business results through sales and market leadership, implementation of strategic
direction and representation in the local marketplace.
 Works in partnership with regional retail and business sales teams to implement strategies,
processes and disciplines to ensure a high level of financial advice and relationship
management for clients with sophisticated financial needs.
 Drives client acquisitions and responsible for achieving Business targets.
 Ensure service delivery is in line with service standards.
 Handles key members with respect to Portfolio Management and interacting with them
through personal visit and joint calls with Financial Consultant’s / Business Account Managers’ .
Budgeting, Analytics & Reports
 Proactively analyze business performance and key performance Evaluates and improves
financial control processes; drives consistent process standardization and management across
the business, to ensure efficiency and cost reduction.
 Oversee division controls and compliance with defined operational policies and procedures to
effectively manage risk and ensure excellent internal audit ratings are achieved.

A minimum of 3 years Sales Management experience, with a proven track record of sales
managing teams of investment professionals.
A post-secondary diploma/degree, in Commerce, Business Administration an asset or related
experience is required.
Personal Financial Planning or Certified Financial Planner, Life Insurance licensed and either
Investment Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course.
Proven application of business acquisition, establishing community and client relationships, and
with success in business growth.
Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities
 Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key
data, including presentations to senior management, board or other outside partners
 Keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which allows for strategic data
interpretation
 Commitment to recruiting, mentoring, training, and retaining a diverse team; the foresight and
ability to delegate accordingly
 Strong leadership capability as evidenced by demonstrable success in team / collaborative work
environments
 Demonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in
challenging, fast paced environment
 Excellent relationship building skills
