AFJH DANCE PROGRAM
Solo, Duo, Trio APPLICATION
I am excited for you to audition to be in the Dance Concert!
The concert is DECEMBER 18 AT 7:00 pm!!! Should you be selected to perform, your call-time will be
5:00 PM!!
You will be required to be in attendance at the following rehearsals:
Lighting and Tech Rehearsal December 16 3:00-6:00PM
Mandatory Dress Rehearsal December 17 3:00-6:00PM
Performance Night December 18 5:00-9:00PM
Requirements to audition:
- One of the performers needs to be in a dance class at AFJH
- All other performers must be students at AFJH
- All performers must have a 2.5 GPA or higher
- All performers must attend all required rehearsals and performances
- Music must be appropriate for Junior High. NO SWEARING OR INAPPROPRIATE
CONTENT!
- AFJH DANCE discourages the use of costumes. If you choose to wear a personally owned
costume it must be modest for dance performance NO MIDRIFTS, NO SHEER FABRIC, AT
LEAST 1” STRAPS OVER THE SHOULDER, NO BACKLESS COSTUMES. AFJH will NOT
be providing costumes for the performance.
- Dances may be choreographed by students or outside choreographers
- Choreography is Junior High appropriate! NO TWERKING, OR INAPPROPRIATE
MOVEMENT ALLOWED!
- Choreography must be modern, contemporary, ballet or jazz. NO HIP HOP!
During the audition:
1. Dancers will present application to Mrs. Wilson.
2. Dancers will perform at least 1 MINUTES OF CHOREOGRAPHY with music included.
3. The results will be posted on the AFJH DANCE website and in the girls’ gym.
4. Mrs. Wilson will be taking 1 solo, 1 duo and 1 trio!
DANCERSPlease be prepared with at least 1 minute of choreography, your piece does
not have to be completed. If the piece is completed, it will not hurt, hinder
or increase the chances of being selected to perform. Choreography must be
original with a clear intent. This means that you must have choreography
that is unique to you and your style of dance! Be creative and take risks!
