Rube Goldberg Invention Challenge
Hello! Your student will be participating in our 2nd Annual (Bi-Annual now? We skipped last
year…) Rube Goldberg Invention Challenge on Monday and Tuesday. They will be working in teams
to build a machine/invention that completes a task. The students were told they have to make it at least
2 feet long, have 3 different “steps” a marble has to roll through and the invention needs to utilize a
cup. Your student is going to come home and be on the lookout for supplies throughout the week. I will
not be giving them anything except a cup. If you have these things at home, GREAT! Please do not buy
any of this. Just looking for things that you planned to recycle or throw away.

Paper towel tubes
Toilet paper tubes
Marbles
Bouncy super balls
Tape
Plastic wrap
String
Dominoes
Playing cards
Styrofoam
Foam swimming noodles
Twist ties
Rubber bands
Clothespins
