UCF Knights Invitational
February 13th and 14th
Dear Colleagues:
We are excited to invite you to the UCF Knights Invitational at the University of Central Florida. The
tournament will be hosted on the UCF Orlando Campus on Saturday February 13th and 14th.
We would love for you to join us in beautiful Orlando, Florida for this two day three round tournament. We will
be offering all 11 AFA individual events in addition to parliamentary debate. Awards will be given to the top
six speakers in individual events. Parliamentary debate will be four rounds and finals awarding the top two
teams and top three speakers overall. We will also award the top five in individual sweepstakes and the top
three teams.
It is our goal to hold a smooth and competitive tournament offering the opportunity for both personal growth as
well as successes. Below you will find attached the tournament schedule and fee structure, which can also be

UCF Knights Invitational
February 13th and 14th
The tournament will consist of 3 rounds each broken into 3 flights. Events that have over 50 entries will go to
semi-finals. A schools can have unlimited entries in each event. Material must not have been used by the
student before September 1, 2015. Competitors may enter up to three events in a grouping unless they are
participating in parliamentary debate, in which case they can enter only one other event in flight B
FLIGHT PATTERNS:
Flight A – Extemp, Prose, POI, Persuasion
Flight B – Parli, Poetry, DI, ADS
Flight C – Impromptu, Duo, Info, CA
FEES: $8.00 per covered IE slot, $20 per parli team – An additional $10 for judge fees per uncovered slot/parli
team. One judge covers 6 IE slots, or 2 parli teams, or 3 IE slots and 1 parli team. Please make checks out to
The University of Central Florida.
JUDGES: All judges must either, have forensics experience as a coach or competitor, or possess an advanced
degree relatable to forensics. All judges are obligated to judge all rounds. IE judges are not obligated to judge
parliamentary but if they are willing it would be greatly appreciated.
DEADLINES: All entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 9th. Drops can be made until
Wednesday February 10th at noon. After this time we will impose a late-drop fee of an additional $20.00 per
I.E. slot/parli team, and $50.00 per judge dropped. Entry drops made the day of registration will be $50.00 and
judge drops will be $100.00. ALL drops will be added to the original entry fee.
All entries, need to be entered on speechwire.com. We will be using speechwire to register and
administer the tournament.
AWARDS: Individual event awards will be presented to all finalists in each event with recognition for top nonadvancing novice. Team Sweepstakes awards will be presented to the top three schools In addition to the top
five in Individual Sweepstakes taking into consideration a students top 4 individual events. Parliamentary
debate will not be incorporated in team or individual sweeps.

1 pt: non-advancing semifinalist or 7th place in final
