Action Contre la Faim (ACF) is an International Non-Governmental Organization that is charitable, impartial, nonpolitical, independent and non-profit making, with headquarter in Paris, France. ACF has humanitarian programs in
more than 36 countries, assisting victims of war and famine. In Sierra Leone ACF was established in 1991. ACF
overall objective in these contexts is to fight against hunger and this is achieved through the implementation of
nutrition, health, food security and water & sanitation projects. Emergency relief responses to immediate needs are
usually followed by longer-term activities aiming to enable affected populations to regain their self-sufficiency.
ACF is implementing programmes with support from the following donors: UK AID (DfID), Irish Aid, UNICEF,
ECHO, SDC, ASI, AFD
ACF is seeking motivated and dynamic candidates for the following positions:
POSITION: Community Mobilization Supervisor
START DATE: 2nd January 2014
SALARY: Technician Level 3 (Le 1, 506,260)Basic salary
DURATION OF CONTRACT: 12 month
LOCATION: Moyamba District
NUMBER OF POSITIONS : 1
PROBATION PERIOD- 3 months
SUPERVISED BY : Deputy Nutrition PM
SUPERVISES:
Community Mobilization Team
Job Objective Assignment: Implement community mobilization activities within the framework of project to
support DHMT in the management of CMAM activities according to national protocol.
Means: General means: colleagues’ job descriptions, planning, office, Access to a computer, transport means
Specific stationary, specific protocols
Key Responsibilities
Objective 1 : Team management:
Activities:
 Participate in the recruitment of staff;
 Draw up a planning of the work involved for each post;
 Organize staff training courses; community participatory methodology for humanitarian setting
 Organize frequent meetings with the team and report the outcome to the Deputy Program Manager;
 Keep an updated register of the staff (absences, overtime);
 Develop reporting tools for the team with support from the manager
 Supervise the daily and monthly reports of the team;
 If there is a problem, find out what is wrong and find a solution or else contact your Deputy Program
Manager
 In case of a conflict between team members try to mediate and refer to Deputy Program Manager in need;
 Check the way in which the team interacts with the beneficiaries and those accompanying them.
 Ensure good coordination and collaboration with other nutrition team members and support departments.
 Maintain team motivation through frequent job feedbacks, etc
Objective 2 Coordinate the setup and follow up of communities mobilization activities among nutrition
program
Activities:
 Supervise a baseline and end of project KAP survey
 Develop sensitization topic on acute malnutrition context and according to KAP survey analysis
 Plan, organize and supervise large and small sensitization meetings in Moyamba district villages
 Develop topics and organize an annual plan of radio discussion broadcasted in Moyamba district
 Participate with community mobilization team and partners to record radio discussion
 Develop, plan and monitor public events set up quarterly on market place in Moyamba district
 Implement training on community screening included in the national Body Health week

Objective 3 : : Data management, reporting and program
Development
 Preparing feedbacks/analysis for each community event with lessons learnt to be adapted for the future
meetings.
 Capture success stories and lessons learned in each phase of program implementation
 Ensure reliable data collection and good and timely reporting activities among nutrition team
 Integrate and analyze community screening data collected each month on the field.
 Ensure field testing of the various phase of social mobilization materials as they are developed and
 provide feedback
 Report on activities and indicators on a regular basis through the provided data collection formats from
monthly and donor reporting
 Participate on formulation of the ACF future operation in field of community mobilization, detection and
referral
Objective 4: : Represent the organization in relation with the
project to the local authorities and other partners:
Activities :
 ACF representation for community mobilization activities in related forums, meetings and training
 Present the project to the various local partners
 Liaise with the authorities, committees and other beneficiaries
Diploma / Level of studies:
Nurse (Diploma); CHO; Psychologist; Nutritionist; Social Worker with a strong interest in nutrition and community
development
Required skills:
Skills and Capacity for organizing, analysing and coordinating activities
Autonomy, creativity, flexibility to take initiative with communication, listening and observation skills
Experience in Community Participatory Approach
Skills in planning and executing sensitization messages with large audience
Skills of training/educating/sensitization
Experience in team management with good team spirit
Good report writing attitude with IT skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Good knowledge of the area and local customs
Knowledge in nutrition, CMAM protocol and IYCF policy
Ability to move on the field by driving motorbike (driving licence compulsory
