175 weaving looms, needles and loops purchased to fulfill weaving requirement of third
grade art curriculum.
Mimio Technology and Middle School Math—A Perfect Match (Old Quarry)
Four Mimio Teach systems were purchased for sixth and seventh grade math classes.
The interactive technology allows teachers to integrate technology including audio and
video clips into lessons, engaging students in new ways.
Time for Kids (Old Quarry)
Subscription to a weekly news magazine that encourages students to read. Fifth graders
will use the magazine is used during independent and guided reading to improve fluency
and comprehension.
iPads for 21st Century Technology Program (River Valley)
Ten iPad 2 devices with 5 keyboards purchased for use with third and fourth grade
students, particularly in the Special Education and higher levels of Response to
Intervention categories. Technology has been a proven tool helping students with
different abilities succeed in the classroom.
World History Maps (Old Quarry)
Geography with a World Map (Old Quarry)
Updated sixth grade social studies classroom with a current set of world history maps
and a political world map.
“You Wouldn’t Want to” Books (Old Quarry)
Books help students gain a deeper understanding of content related to the sixth grade
social studies curriculum.
Brains are Popping with Brain Pop (River Valley)
Software license renewed through the 2011-2012 school year. This internet based
program engages students at all instructional levels in a group or individual setting.
iMove forward with iPads (Old Quarry)
Five iPads purchased for use with fifth grade students. Teachers plan to incorporate
iPads across the curriculum and use them as a differentiation tool.
Junior Scholastic magazine (Old Quarry)
Magazine subscription to supplement the eighth grade social studies curriculum.
Subscription includes current events magazine as well as access to an interactive
website.
Current Science magazine (Old Quarry)
Periodical subscription for use in seventh grade science classes.
Elmo document camera (Old Quarry)
Document cameras project objects and images onto a surface. A camera was purchased
for use in sixth grade social studies classes, allowing the class to share vintage maps,
periodical images, worksheets and more.
Brain Pop (River Valley
Software license renewed through 2012-2013 school year. This internet-based software
engages students at multiple instruction levels across the curriculum.
Max O.Q. The Revitalization of the Fitness Center (Old Quarry)
Purchased two recumbent exerbikes with gaming systems for use during physical
education classes for all Old Quarry students. The equipment replaces outdated and
inoperable gym equipment.
iPad app card (all district)
16 iPads and accessories (Oakwood)
Provided one iPad per classroom for first and second grades.
4 iPads and accessories (Old Quarry)
Four iPads purchased for use in sixth grade math classes.
Innovative Technology for Today’s Students (Old Quarry)
Four iPads and accessories purchased for use by special education teachers at Old
Quarry Middle School. The technology will help students become more independently
successful in all content areas, and will be used with students in all four grade levels.
Expressions (Old Quarry)
An iPad was purchased for use by the speech pathologist and will be used to teach
strategies to students with communication and self expression concerns.

Oxbow Grant:
JASON Project (Old Quarry)
The JASON Project is a program designed to bring STEM technology, lab and inquirybased learning into the science classroom by connecting students with real-world
scientific experiments, explorations and scientists.Students are assigned to different
operations during their unit of study. Those operations include an introductory video
and several expeditions that have lab components to give students an in-depth
examination of their curricular topic.
