ISIS completes spectacular VW head office fitout
Leading construction firm ISIS has completed a spectacular $5.5 million fitout of
VW Australia’s brand new head office building in Chullora.
Working on a tight 11-week timeframe ISIS completed the project on time,
allowing VW Australia to shift its business operations and over 300 staff from its
previous Botany head office as soon as the paint dried.
ISIS Project Manager Steve Latham said the lavish 5,900 sqm office fitout on the
first and second floors was high in architectural detail, adding an extra degree of
difficulty to the project given the short timeframe for completion.
“Meticulously designed by architects Davenport Campbell, the fitout features the
installation of original artworks and graphic displays, a wide range of highquality finishes, customised joinery and state of the art kitchens and meeting
facilities,” Steve said.
“Some of the more unique custom artworks and auto-themed installations
include feature walls adorned with number plates and VW mag wheels.”
“There is also a number of chrome exhaust pipe-styled partition screens and a
highly stylised chrome replica of the front end of an old VW Combi van mounted
on a waiting area wall!”
“We also fitted out a 300 sqm external terrace that will act as an outdoor lunch
area for office staff, complete with trendy, customised outdoor furniture,
barbeques, a billiards table and electrical louvred roof system,” he said.
The project also involved the fitout of a purpose-built 3,700 sqm training
workshop with classrooms and auto hoists on the building’s ground floor.

The workshop will be used to educate auto-mechanics from VW dealerships all
over Australia on servicing and repairing new VW vehicles.
Steve said the speed, scale and detail of the project meant up to 120 workers
were required onsite at any given time.
“This is a very large number given the size of the project, so to ensure safety,
efficiency and speed we had two Site Managers operating onsite at all times.”
“This meant we could accommodate scope change and still complete the project
on time, without the need for night shifts or acceleration costs to be passed onto
our clients.”
“The fact that we were able to complete such an extensive and highly-detailed
project in such a short timeframe is a real testament to our dedicated and highly
skilled workers, and an example of the quality and capability of our
organisation,” he said.
