AAC7 SIP CALL
SIP Calls to AAC7 unanswered with AAC7 responding with SIP 503 Error.
Pillappa, Suresh (Suresh)
Problem:
When SIP users dial into the AAC7 they hear fast busy tone, and calls unanswered by the AAC7 Media
server.
Confusion or Misleading:
AAC7 EM console shows that media server is available and assigned to media cluster and the NE
maintenance for media server shows service is active. Provisioning manager shows media resource
available to the user call origination location
Solution:
Check and verify if media server is in Locked Condition, when calls to AAC7 were attempted and failed
to process SIP request. One of the possible situation is the Media server might be in maintenance state
(Locked), which says no SIP sessions is sent/processed by media server on AAC7, as it is not available.
Far end calling end point will receive SIP Response 503 from the AAC7 as shown below.
Logon to EM console and go to the media server Network element configuration, and open
maintenance option and unlock the media server for that location were user is attempting to call. There
is no need to restart the media server after unlocking, assuming media server is in service before
unlocking.
Information on SIP Error Message 503 – (Service Unavailable) : The server is undergoing maintenance
or is temporarily overloaded and cannot process the request.
