As you may know, Teaching Leaders is an education charity with a mission to address
educational disadvantage by growing a movement of outstanding middle leaders in schools in
challenging contexts.
Following the successful launch of the TL Primary programme in September 2014 with almost
200 schools across London, Norfolk, Manchester and Birmingham, we are now delighted to
announce that applications are now open for 2015.
As part of our continued focus on schools within challenging contexts, we would like to invite you
to our upcoming Medway breakfast event, hosted by Teaching Leaders with the support from
Medway Council, Williamson Trust and the Thinking Schools Academy Trust.
Teaching Leaders: Medway Breakfast Panel Discussion ‘Within-school variation – how
middle leaders drive consistency in schools’
Date and time: Thursday 26 February, 8:30am-10:30am
Venue: Gillingham FC, MEMs Priestfield Stadium, Redfern Avenue, Kent, ME7 4DD
Panel Chair: Dr Gary Holden, Chair of the Medway and Kent Teaching School Council.
Panel Members: Including Mike Sheridan, Senior HMI at Ofsted.
The theme of the event is to build on the latest TL Quarterly.

The event is also a chance for headteachers and senior leaders to hear more about Teaching
Leaders, how to get involved with our TL Primary Programme in Medway and our Fellows
Programme for secondary middle leaders.

About TL Primary
TL Primary is a two-year impact programme for primary middle leaders in schools in challenging
contexts. In the first year, the programme works with teams of middle leaders to have a
measurable impact on pupil progress and attainment in reading, writing and mathematics. The
programme provides middle leaders with:




the equivalent of 21 days of development (outside of school hours), including an Induction
Weekend at Warwick University
coaching from a current or former head or senior leader
access to the Teaching Leaders network of 450 like-minded primary middle leaders
opportunity to work towards the NPQML or an MA
Your School is eligible for a significant subsidy from the National College for the TL Primary
programme. The school relations team would be very happy to discuss in more detail any middle
leaders you are considering for the programme.
