Health Care Administration Program

The UWEC Health Care Administration (HCAD) program offers a premiere education, combined
with an advanced experiential practicum the final year. Applicants selected for participation in
the program are expected to demonstrate experience and a passion for wanting to make a
difference in people’s lives. If you have a “head for business” and a “heart for caring”, this
program and future career may be a good fit for you.
Selection decisions for the program include consideration of GPA, health care and leadership
experience, drive/motivation/passion of the student, future career goals, and availability in the
desired practicum cohort. Achievement of a grade of C- or better is required in all HCAD major
coursework, and a minimum GPA of 2.75 are required to apply. These are also graduation
requirements. Applicants below these requirements may be considered for a provisional
admittance on a case-by-case basis, if space allows.
