Your egg drop project is due in school on Tuesday, May 26th. By now you should have a
vehicle that has been tested for success. You will be required to include a two-part
written portion about the journey you have experienced while building your Egg Drop
Vehicle.
Both written portions of the Egg Drop Summative can be displayed as creatively as you
would like. Some examples/suggestions from previous years include:

-iMovie or other movie maker software
-PowerPoint
Written Portion #1: Due Wednesday, May 20th
Task #1: Describe and explain all the materials you have used in creating your vehicle so
far and give details as to why you chose each item. Your reasoning for selecting each
material should have a direct relationship to the topics and vocabulary that have been
discussed in class. Scientific vocabulary must be used throughout the written piece.
Task #2: Explanation of your successes/failures so far. What have you tried that has
worked? What have you tried that hasn’t worked? Your reasoning for your vehicle’s
successes and failures should have a direct relationship to the topics and vocabulary that
have been discussed in class. Scientific vocabulary must be used throughout.
Task #3: What are your plans going forward? If you are making any modifications to your
vehicle, what are they and why? If no modifications are necessary, describe in detail what
your vehicle looks like and why you believe each material you have chosen will add to the
success of your vehicle. Your explanation should have a direct relationship to the topics
and vocabulary that have been discussed in class. Scientific vocabulary must be used
throughout.
Included in this first written portion, insert a photo of what your project looks like
during this stage of the egg drop. Label the materials you used if possible.

Task #1: Describe of all the materials you used in your final egg drop project. Your
reasoning for selecting each material should have a direct relationship to the topics and
vocabulary that have been discussed in class. Scientific vocabulary must be used
throughout the written portion.
Task #2: After experiencing the egg drop and seeing the results, what would you do
differently in the future? Why? Your explanation should have a direct relationship to the
topics and vocabulary that have been discussed in class. Scientific vocabulary must be
used throughout.
Task #3: After observing all of the successful vehicles, can you determine a common
element or elements among them? Describe why you think they were successful using
scientific vocabulary.
