Dear Parents and Carers,
I am pleased to announce that your child has been selected to represent CSPS and play the recorder at the
Jacaranda Concert of the Festival of Instrumental Music at the Sydney Opera House. This event will be held on the
evening of 5th August 2015.
The cost to be part of this event is $36. Please fill out the slip below and return it to the school note box in the front
office by Friday 27th March 2015.
The students will be required to practice hard as it’s an expectation that ALL repertoire be learned by ALL
participating students and that they will be able to perform it with musicality, accuracy and from memory. It might
be an idea to create a weekly timetable with set practice times and places, especially if the noise is problematic at
home. School rehearsal time is at 8:35am each Thursday in the 2SY classroom.
Notes will come home closer to the time regarding the rehearsals on 24th June and the day of the concert and also
regarding booking tickets for the event.

Ticket numbers are limited to 4 per booking and sell out very quickly

Meet Ms Young at Canterbury station at 8am to travel by train

Opera House Day Time Rehearsal
Students will catch a train to the Opera House with Ms Young and will need to be
picked up at 3:30pm at the conclusion of the rehearsal
Parents and students will meet Ms Young at a meeting point at the Opera House
(TBC) at 6:15pm ready for the concert at 7pm
More logistics regarding this day will be confirmed closer to the time
