General Information
The 2015 Gonzales County Court Pageant to be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday June 7, 2014 at The
Gonzales Junior High Auditorium. The categories and entry fee will be as follows:








Cannonball Cutie (0 – 23 mo.)
Tiny Shot (2yr – 3 yr.)
Petite Miss (Pre k – K)
Little Mister (1st – 3rd gr)
Little Miss (1st – 3rd gr)
Young Miss (4th – 6th gr)
Jr. Miss (7th – 8th gr)
Miss (9th – 12th, entering senior yr.)

Deadline for entry is 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2015. Pageant admission at the door will be
$4.00 ($2.00 under 12).
Categories include a winner and first runner‐up to be chosen in each division. Each winner will
receive a crown and sash.
Contestants will be judged on the basis of appearance, poise, interview, and communication
skills. Judges from outside Gonzales County will be selecting the winners.
All contestants will be interviewed by the judges on separate date.
That date will be Sunday, May 31, 2015. Times of the interview will be scheduled after May 29,
2015. Interviews will start by age division. (Cannonball Cutie, Tiny Shot, and petite Miss do not
interview)
Decisions of judges are final.
A come and go rehearsal will begin on the day of the pageant and will start promptly at 1:30
p.m. at the Gonzales Junior High Auditorium. Each contestant must fill out the required entry
form and return it along with the entry fee by May 29, 2015 to the Gonzales Chamber of
Commerce office at 414 St. Lawrence Street by 5:00 p.m.

Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture Board of Directors.

Official Rules & Regulations

Entry Fee: The deadline is May 29, 2015 by 5:00 p.m. to the Chamber of Commerce office at 414 St. Lawrence
Street. No late entries will be accepted
Attire: Formal dress is recommended for the evening pageant. Casual dress is recommended for rehearsal and
interview with judges. Please no flip flops, short shorts, tank tops, or strapless tops. Age appropriate.
Interview: Applicants will be notified of the location and time of interview. Time time will be determined by the
number of applications received. Contestants missing the interview will receive a score of zero (0) for the interview
competition. All Jr. Miss & Miss Contestants will participate in a 1 ‐2 minute interview during the pageant.
Interviews cannot be rescheduled.
Winners are expected to exemplify a standard of excellence.
A contestant/winner, along with their parental or guardians, must agree to abide by these rules, with the possibility
of disqualification for infractions thereof.
1. Contestant must reside in Gonzales County.
2. Contestants must have never been married, never been pregnant nor ever have given birth to a child.
The Miss Gonzales County may not marry or become pregnant during her reign. The first runner up in their division
will hold the title and complete the reign. . The winner will forfeit their title if they become pregnant, have a
police record, or be suspended from school for any length of time.
3. No one will be allowed backstage on the date of the pageant other than pageant officials and
contestants. (Does not apply to Cannonball Cuties or Tiny Shots)
4. Any contestant, any family member or any guest showing unsportsmanlike behavior will lead to the
disqualification of the contestant. That contestant will not be allowed to participate in the Miss Gonzales County
pageant in the future.
5. Contestant may never have been convicted of a criminal offense.
6. There shall be no visitation by family members or friend with the judges. The judges may initiate a
conversation, but family members should not initiate a conversation. This will result in disqualification of the
contestant.
7. The committee holds the right to disqualify any contestant if necessary. This can be a fun event for
everyone and can be a learning experience. The committee will not tolerate any questionable behavior, false
accusations about other contestants or cheating of any sort. There will be secret judges and they will be reporting
directly to the main judges if they see anything questionable. Be Alert!
8. Contestants must be of good moral conduct.
9. All decisions of the judges are final.
10. The director and committee of the pageant have the right to renounce any wardrobe that does not
meet the guidelines as follows:
a. All garments must follow the rule of the 3 B’s
No BELLIES visible
No BREASTS visible
No BOTTOMS visible
b. All garments should be knee length or longer
11. Contestants and their parents/guardians agree to hold harmless all persons affiliated with the Miss
Gonzales County Pageant and the Gonzales Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture, in case of any loss or injury
occurring during the entire pageant and preparation for the pageant.
12. Contestants must conduct themselves in a proper lady-like manner and show high moral standards.
Contestants will not be permitted to drink alcoholic beverages, smoke or use foul language at any time during the
pageant or during their reign.
13. Should there be any problem of any kind during the pageant or related events; the contestant is to go
to one of the directors or committee members. Any unruly, unsportsmanlike or unbecoming conduct by a
contestant or any member of her entourage, or any disregard for the rules and regulations of this pageant can
and will result in immediate dismissal from further competition without refund. Depending on the severity of the
action or behavior, may result in a permanent barrier from future competition of the Miss Gonzales County
Pageant. This also includes social media conduct.
14. Candidates MUST reside with a parent/guardian or grandparent.
15. Duties of the newly selected Miss Gonzales County, Jr. Miss Gonzales County, Young Miss Gonzales
County, Little Miss Gonzales County and Little Mister Gonzales County include:
a.She will represent Gonzales at Chamber of Commerce and other functions as much as possible.
b. She must be a young lady of high morals and exhibit superb ethical character.
c. The Miss Gonzales County must be a young lady who strives to be an excellent role model to the
youth of Gonzales County.
d. She must be a young lady who wishes to be a representative of her hometown community.
e. She will pledge not to partake of alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs or smoke during her reign as
Miss Gonzales County. All profanity is prohibited during her reign.
f. If the newly selected Miss Gonzales County cannot fulfill all of the expressed duties or if she
violates any rules set forth for a contestant, she will immediately relinquish her title, crown and scholarship upon
the direction of the Pageant Director and the Pageant Committee and the first runner-up will be eligible for the
title.
g. The Miss Gonzales County must serve in accordance of her title. If she feels that she would not
care to be under the watchful eye of the community and the committee for one year, including all social media
accounts, then she may want to reconsider entering the contest. The committee has the right to remove her crown
and the first runner-up of the contest would take over as the reigning Miss Gonzales County. This is a possibility
that the committee wants her to know about.
16. Any disrespect to pageant committee or Chamber personnel by contestant and/or reigning court will
be immediate dismissal from the pageant and/or forfeiture of their crown.
First Runner‐ups are eligible to participate when the winner is not able to attend due to health or scheduling
conflicts.
Parents of Miss Gonzales Court are responsible for pulling the float. Parents of all winners
are urged to participate and assist in setting‐up and pulling the float when needed. Parents may select a
spokesperson from the court to organize time schedules, call for substitutes and select proper attire needed for
parade or event. Parents and or guardians will need to provide the Gonzales Chamber with a copy of their valid
license.
I, the undersigned, hereby agree to indemnify, save and hold harmless Gonzales Chamber of Commerce &
Agriculture and any of their agents and representatives for any accident or injury resulting from my participation in
the Miss Gonzales County Court Pageant, parades and events.
