R10 assessments and subject-area consultants will review the assessments in light of alignment with scope and sequence, alignment with rigor and level of thinking with TEKS, appropriateness of overall test make up including overall difficulty and coverage of content and process, and finally, whether the assessment has predictive value. Audit will cover all assessments in a given subject if 6 or 9 weeks assessments or will cover sample assessments if 2-3 week assessments. Campuses can request that all assessments be reviewed by paying for extra days. It is important that this process be accomplished in the summer before teachers return. Cost: $1200 per subject per grading period (i.e. 6 six weeks of Math = $7200); or $600 per day. If the tests are found to be too short to be valid or too few in number, the full rate will not be charged. Content Area Curriculum Audit - $3000 Per Course Region 10’s content area curriculum audit will look at overall unit design for a particular grade level within a subject. Areas of concentration include conceptual focus, pacing, spiraling, bundling of standards, content, procedural and cognitive alignment to the standards. This includes audits of lessons associated with course. Custom Data Views - $3000 Customized data views and reports will be developed using Aware for the campus. Training will include how the campus can create these reports themselves if they have Aware or how to connect to improvement strategies from the custom data set provided by R10. R10 consultants will meet ½ day with campus to discover data needs for such things as interventions, flexible grouping, summer school programs, scope and sequence changes, etc. Time then back at Region 10 will be spent in developing the custom reports needed by the campus. A consultant will then return to the campus to show, explain, and train personnel in the use of the data reports. Facilitated Assessment Development - $600: Per Day Per Content Area Region 10 consultants will bring teachers together to design curriculum based assessments or unit assessments using the WebCCAT test generator. R10 consultants will assist in developing tests that are based on validity, have a predictive value for STAAR, and are tightly aligned to the content and rigor of the TEKS. Participants must have completed ½ day training of "Designing Assessments with STAAR Quality" before this service will be offered. General Curriculum Audit - $7000 Region 10’s general curriculum audit is based on examining curriculum documents, interviewing curriculum writers, conducting focus groups among principals, teachers, and other stakeholders such as special programs designees. Standards addressed include horizontal alignment, vertical alignment, monitoring of curriculum, curriculum-based professional development, curriculum-based assessment, needs assessment and long range curriculum planning. Participants receive a numerical score and executive summary of results.
