Stages of the lesson and methods
to be used
Use power point slides to recap on previous learning and
what the lessons aim to achieve.
Explain the activities.
Divide class into six groups as follows:
1. Cooking group.
2. Tea making group.
3. Lantern making and table setting group.
4. Flash cards making group.
5. Entertaining group.
6. Film group.
Distribute instruction cards to each group leader.
Allow all groups to work.
Set table and serve fried rice, tea, fortune cookies and
panda biscuits.
All sit down to a meal.
Talk on table manners and chopsticks etiquette.
Recap learned characters on food and drink.
Learn new characters on good wishes.
Sing a Chinese song.
Cleanup.
Preparation time
2 hours:
Prepare power point slides.
Write Instruction Cards.
Assign group leaders according to his/her strength.
Gather equipment and resources.
Cook some white rice and fried rice.

Tea group: Good but remember to provide a strainer for
the tea leaves
Flash cards group: Great job and they learned some new
characters.
Table setting group: Good job but need to make sure
there are enough settings for everyone. Also use paper
bowls instead of china.
Entertaining group: Should sing in rounds as instructed!
