CHURCH CLEANING Objectives and Plan FOR 2015
THANK YOU!!
THANK YOU!!

THANK YOU!!
Thanks to all 27 families for helping to clean the church once a quarter during the current year. We believe the
work can be done in around 2 hours with the 2-family teams. If it takes longer than 2 hours to clean for any of
you, please let me know. We will make some adjustment. If a conflict arises for a certain week, please try to
switch weeks with families working other weeks. If that is not possible, please call me (377-2543). Phone
numbers are attached with the schedule in the same order as the family names.
I have attached a copy of our cleaning objectives and plan. It includes responsibilities for: 1) the Sunday
morning deacons, 2) the leaders of weekly and special activities, 3) weekly volunteers for cleaning (above
schedule), and 4) a thorough cleaning by our outside source.
Mindy Day has volunteered to oversee the cleanliness of the restrooms with an inspection and spot cleaning
after each Sunday morning activity. This will assure that the restrooms are OK for the weekly activities.
Thanks again, to all of you for your service to the congregation and your stewardship of our facility.

CHURCH CLEANING Objectives and Plan FOR 2015
3.1.2015
A. GOALS TO ACHIEVE
1. Be wise stewards of our church facility.
2. Assure that the total church is clean and ready for Sunday activities.
3. Assure that the total church is “reasonably clean” and ready at any time for user’s activities
throughout 12 weeks of “volunteer” cleaning, and 1 week of professionally cleaning in each quarter
of the year.
B. METHOD TO ACHIEVE GOALS
1. Enlist additional volunteers to increase the volunteers each week to a minimum of 2 families
2. Weekly volunteers will provide basic cleaning duties for 12 weeks of each quarter of the year.
3. A paid outside source will “deep clean” the 13th week of the quarter
C. BASIC WEEKLY DUTIES
1. Scheduled Sunday morning deacons
a. Restore sanctuary to pre-worship condition following the worship service: pick up stray
bulletins, replace hymnals on chairs
b. Dispose of accumulated trash from coffee room, foyer, cry room (diapers), restrooms, kitchen
(if used), and classrooms. (Intended to eliminate potential health issues)
2. Leaders of the weekly activities and special events
a. Each user is responsible for cleaning up the area(s) of the building they used during their
activity
b. For large congregational events, we hope that many will spontaneously pitch in to restore
order to the tables and chairs, and vacuum as necessary
3. Weekly volunteers (Usually done on Friday or Saturday)
a. Remove trash from, and replace liners in, all trash containers. Dispose in dumpster.
b. Clean restrooms (5): sinks and counters, stools, mirrors, and mop floors.
c. “Spot vacuum” traffic lanes such as foyers and through the activity room, the coffee room,
hallways, etc., to remove any scraps of paper, food, leaves, pebbles, etc. Vacuum between
rows of chairs, “if needed”. This is not meant to be a thorough vacuuming, by moving all chairs,
but rather to remove small tidbits of trash, food, etc.
d. Dust rostrum floor, and furniture where needed, and organ and piano in sanctuary.
e. Check the upholstery on the chairs for cleanliness, Vacuum where needed.
f. Wipe down kitchen counters, remove any food scraps, Mop floor if needed.
g. Wipe down the tables and counters in the coffee room
h. Vacuum classrooms and balcony classroom so they are clean for children to play on the carpet
(Especially the nursery, and cry room). Straighten the tables, chairs, and toys as needed.
i. Clean finger prints from the glass entry doors, and adjoining windows, for both the north and
west entrances.
j. Cleaning supplies and equipment are in the 3 closets adjacent to the “old” water fountain
D. OUTSIDE - SOURCE CLEANING COMPANY
1. The outside source will “deep clean” the entire church on the weeks as identified on the attached
schedule
2. To be a thorough cleaning throughout the church, including basics that weekly volunteers do.
a. 100 % vacuuming of all carpet in the church, moving tables and chairs to vacuum under them.
b. Dusting throughout church, including blinds, furniture, walls, rostrum
c. Cleaning of restrooms, kitchen, foyers, mopping and cleaning of all tile surfaces
d. Reset furniture in sanctuary, activity room, and classrooms. Etc. etc…..
