Stillwater Area Community Center Youth Basketball League
The goal of the league is to expose students to the game of basketball regardless of
experience or skill level. We encourage all students to participate and look to provide fair
and fun competition. Most importantly, our goal is to build character and set a foundation
for good sportsmanship among players, coaches, parents, and spectators.
Parent’s Code of Conduct
1. I will remember that children participate to have fun and that the game is for youth,
not adults.
2. I, in addition to my guests, will be positive role models for my child and encourage
good sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating
positive support for all players, coaches, officials, and spectators at all times.
3. I, in addition to my guests, will not engage in unsportsmanlike conduct in any form
with anyone at any time. Prohibited behavior includes, but is not limited to, booing,
taunting, refusing to shake hands, or using profane language or gestures.
4. I will demand that my child treat other players, coaches, officials, and spectators
with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex, or ability.
5. I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other participant for any reason while
participating in the SACC Youth Basketball league.
6. I will emphasize skill development as opposed to winning.
7. I will respect the officials and their authority during games and will not question,
discuss, or confront coaches during a game or practice.
8. I will teach my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts in a positive
manner.
