Parhelion’s LDG Light Bulb Named Edison Awards

LDG Light Bulb to be recognized at Edison Awards Gala on April 23 in New York
Apex, North Carolina (16 March, 2015) – LDG Light Bulb by Parhelion has been named a 2015 Award
Finalist by the internationally renowned Edison Awards™. The distinguished awards, inspired by
Thomas Edison’s persistence and inventiveness, recognize innovation, creativity and ingenuity in the
global economy.
“It’s exciting to see companies like Parhelion continuing Thomas Edison’s legacy of challenging
conventional thinking,” said Frank Bonafilia, Edison Awards’ executive director. “Edison Awards
recognizes the game-changing products and services, and the teams that brought them to
consumers.” Award winners will be announced April 23, 2015 at the Edison Awards Annual Gala,
held in the historic Ballroom of The Capitale in New York City.
“This new use for laser light combined with nanotechnology brings further solutions to everyday

Parhelion COO. “What kept us motivated during all these years of R&D work, was imagining that our
LDG could save even just one single life in a fire emergency situation.”
Edison Award nominees are judged by more than 3,000 senior business executives and academics
from across the nation whose votes acknowledge the Finalists’ success in meeting the award’s
stringent criteria of quality. The voting panel includes members of:

LDG stands for Laser Diffraction Grating. The LDG is a laser-based bulb that combines the Parhelion
Zoisite laser with a light manipulating nanotechnology to provide unique benefits that can be
applied to use in many products (e.g., emergency lighting, smoke alarms, etc.). Consuming less than
1 watt of power, the LDG is able to shine through fire, smoke, fog and other turbid environments
including in water. The LDG makes visible all objects in these challenging environments without the
