Take your students on a Wildlife Adventure! This booking form is for Australian schools / educational facilities. Please complete all details below and return to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary to confirm your booking.

Your admission fee includes admission to the park and all animal exhibits, shows and train rides. 2016 rates are as follows (including GST):

Primary School Aged (4 – 12 years)*

High School Aged (13 years – 18 years)*

$12.95 per student (1 free teacher per 5 paying students)**

$17.95 per student (1 free teacher per 10 paying students)**

Adult Students (18 years +)* $24.95 per student (1 free teacher per 10 paying students)**

* Please note: To receive these education rates, groups must be a minimum of 10 students. Additional adults

(additional to free adults) will be subject to an admission fee of $24.95 pp.

Complete the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary School Bookings Form with your preferred date and estimated number of students. We will send confirmation of your booking with full information. Your school will be invoiced with the actual student numbers that you advise on the day of your visit.

Wildlife Discovery Experience (all year levels & ESL)

The Wildlife Discovery Experience is our most popular living lesson and takes place in The Pines Elanora Discovery Den (30 maximum). This exciting new outdoor teaching space is located in a beautiful natural setting where your students will be immersed in nature.

Your students will have the opportunity to meet three of our amazing animals that may include a python, lizard, phasmid

(stick insect), echidna, possum, frog or baby crocodile

(depending on availability and excursion focus).

This interactive experience focuses on animal adaptations, diet, habitat and conservation, is linked to the Australian

Curriculum and tailored to your students’ year level. Specific topic requests can be made when booking. Please advise us when booking.

Students will also have the opportunity to discover the interactive zone where they can handle artefacts, explore life under the microscope and touch feathers, bones, skins and more.

Indigenous Experience (all year levels & ESL)

Immerse your students in culture at Currumbin! Our

Indigenous Experience will teach your students about our local area and its people, significant landmarks, weaponry,

Dreamtime stories such as the Rainbow Serpent, myths, languages, instruments and ceremonies. Students will meet and learn about a python, crocodile, frog and mammal

(depending on availability). Our Indigenous education officer will be your host, with your experience taking place in our new outdoor Ngulli Nyeumba Amphitheatre (meaning “we teach” in the Indigenous Yugambeh language) – 60 people maximum.

Behind the Scenes Tour (all year levels & ESL)

Discover what happens Behind The Scenes at Currumbin

Wildlife Sanctuary. A special VIP pass lets you go where few other people can. Guided by one of our wildlife education officers you will visit food preparation kitchens and learn about a ‘day in the life of a zoo keeper’. At our Wildlife

Hospital you will learn about the typical cases of animals that come into care. The tour also includes a visit to our animal training and presentation area where you will learn about husbandry and training techniques, and see some of the birds that star in our daily shows.

Eye Spy Threatened Species Tablet Trail

Do you have a threatened species topic focus for your group?

The tablet trail is an innovative and exciting approach to learning about threatened species. Using preloaded tablets the students will journey through the Sanctuary in search of five of our threatened species. Students will discuss conservation strategies, take photos and answer questions throughout the trail. Thanks to the tablet technology, teachers will have access to the students’ reports from the day back in the classroom.

The Tourism Tablet Trail introduces the world of tourism, a prominent industry throughout Australia which provides a variety of career paths. Using Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary as a working model, students learn the range of operations across this busy tourist attraction. The trail is self-guided and provides students with an interactive experience using tablet technology. At the end of the trail students will be met by a wildlife education officer for an informative Q&A session.

Koala Photo Opportunity

Volunteer Guide
