Ancient Egypt Learning Matrix Y3
Try and earn as many Egyptian gold coins as possible by completing as many of the tasks below as you
like. You will be awarded 1 coin for every task you complete. BUT your teacher (being the Pharaoh)
and classmates can award more, based on presentation, creativity, effort etc, if they like!
You MUST complete the Mandatory Task which is worth 10 coins.
Once you have done a task you can cross it off your own sheet. We would like you to try different
kinds of activities.
Mandatory Task
Before our Egyptian Day and Expo (12th June) you will present your poster about one area of Ancient
Egypt. This can be any area you like, but you must inform your teacher of the area that you will be
researching. What will you choose? Mummies? Gods and Goddesses? The Nile?
Please ask for poster paper. Your poster might have some of the following things on it...
 Heading
 Subheadings
 Pictures (printed or drawn)
 Diagrams (printed or drawn)
 Text (facts – NOT printed, your own words)

write instructions, draw a
poster, make a movie or
something else (be creative)
Create a Calligram for an
Egyptian word (remember the
ones you made when we were

system. Can you make up your
own problems to share with
your class?

another construction material.

The ancient Egyptians are
believed to have invented many
things. Can you find out what
some of these were? How do
they work? Why did they need
to invent it? How will you
present what you find out?

home describing what you find.
